I’ve finally finished listening to Michael Jackson’s mid-era music, and now I’m starting his golden era with "Off the Wall." This album, released in 1979, is special and marks a big change in his career. It's the only MJ album from the 70s in my top 5 of the year."Off the Wall" mixes disco, pop, and funk, making it different from his earlier solo work. The title song, "Off the Wall," feels a lot like The Jacksons’ music, showing how smoothly Michael moved from being in a group to being a solo artist.Songs like "Rock with You" and "Don’t Stop 'Til You Get Enough" are classic disco hits, full of energy and fun. These tracks show off Michael’s great singing voice and his talent for making catchy dance music. In contrast, "She’s Out of My Life" shows a more emotional side of Michael. This ballad is very touching and reminds me of Queen’s "Love of My Life." Michael’s heartfelt singing on this song really connects with listeners. The album also includes a cover of Paul McCartney’s "Girlfriend." I always thought this was an original MJ song, which shows how well he performed it. This cover hints at the great music Michael and Paul would make together in the 80s.Overall, "Off the Wall" is a great album that shows Michael Jackson at an important time in his career. While it might not be as famous as his 80s music, it helped set the stage for his later successes and remains a timeless part of his music collection.

*Michael Jackson, Off the Wall - 1979* Lyrics: When the world is on your shoulder Gotta straighten up your act and boogie down If you can't hang with the feeling Then there ain't no room for you, this part of town 'Cause we're the party people, night and day Livin' crazy, that's the only way So tonight, gotta leave that nine to five upon the shelf An' just enjoy yourself Groove, let the madness in the music get to you Life ain't so bad at all If you live it off the wall Life ain't so bad at all Live your life off the wall (Live your life off the wall) Live it off the wall You can shout out all you want to 'Cause there ain't no sin an' folks all gettin' loud If you take the chance an' do it Then there ain't no one who's gonna put you down 'Cause we're the party people, night an' day Livin' crazy that's the only way So tonight, gotta leave that nine to five upon the shelf An' just enjoy yourself C'mon and groove Let the madness in the music get to you Life ain't so bad at all If you live it off the wall Life ain't so bad at all Live your life off the wall (Live your life off the wall) Live it off the wall Do, what you want to do There ain't no rules, it's up to you (Ain't no rules, it's up to you) It's time to come alive And party on right through the night (all right) Gotta hide your inhibitions Gotta let that fool loose, deep inside your soul Wanna see an exhibition (Hee) Better do it now before you get too old 'Cause we're the party people, night and day Livin' crazy that's the only way So tonight Gotta leave that nine to five upon the shelf And just enjoy yourself C'mon and groove (Yeah) Let the madness in the music get to you Life ain't so bad at all If you live it off the wall (Life ain't so bad at all) Live it off the wall (Live your life off the wall) So tonight Gotta leave that nine to five upon the shelf An' just enjoy yourself C'mon and groove (Yeah) Let the madness in the music get to you Life ain't so bad at all If you livin' off the wall Tonight Gotta leave that nine to five upon the shelf (Livin' off the wall) An' just enjoy yourself (Life is better off) C'mon and groove (Livin' off the wall) Let the madness in the music get to you (Life is better off) Life ain't so bad at all (Livin' off the wall) Wanna dance (Tonight, off the wall) Gotta leave that nine to five upon the shelf An' just enjoy yourself END. *the king of pop will live forever. i love you, Michael Jackson!!!* ❤

It's arguably one of his best songs. This song was written by Rod Temperton ... who was originally a part of the group Heatwave .. up until Quincy "knicked" him. I urge everyone that loves this groove to go and listen to Heateave's first two albums. Same groove same vibe! It's all in the grooveline, bubba!

Yep, right there with you - this, and Rock With You, both written by Mr Temperton (RIP) who has never had the recognition he absolutely deserves.
