@Hey! It's Me! I'm not talking about the whole album, I'm talking this song itself. If you take away the lyrics and just listen to the instrumental, it's literally a lo fi song. This wasn't his most hifi album because this was a mostly digitized album. The only thing that was recorded analog was MJ's vocals, all the other beats were produced with Pro Tools.

@matthewanthony4606 Actually, I was around this time, and most R&B hits didn't have this instrumentation. There are certain imperfections in this song that you usually hear in today's Lofi music aka chill music. If you take away the ocals and just listen to the beat, you'd hear what I'm talking about.

Who needs a video to accompany it, right? Love this song the moment I heard it the first time. I believe Michael wants to capture the essence of a good song just like from his Off The Wall and Thriller days. Now, this song is a classic among his other great songs. It’s so crazy to me that Michael was like 40 still singing this beautifully and just flawlessly at the end of his career. I can listen to this song on repeat so easily, Mike is just the GOAT

Invincible documentary would be good , underrated album (thanks Sony...) so much unknown in the recording of this.
@Pinklaeti757 жыл бұрын
King MJ Yes, it would be great. Plus, I've read somewhere (I think it was on MJJCOMMUNITY) that a good deal of (video) footages has been recorded by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, one of the producers of the Invincible. I think only him and Justin Bieber have seen these videos of the making of Invincible, to this day.

Funk $ony this album is so damn amazing it's a shame it couldn't get as much mainstream love as his other albums but it sold pretty good considering he didn't have that much support on it.

The reason why this didn’t do well was because of the controversy and trial. The labels hated that Jackson had so much influence on the world so during this time they wanted to smear him

This came out in 2001. Trial in 2005. Let’s stop with misinformation. It wasn’t promoted by Sony for beef with MJ.

Not a day goes by without thinking about this man. It seems like he's someone you've known forever, he's truly missed. Tis' a blue feeling when you know your HERO is no more with you in your realm, it's like loving and simply looking up to someone as your greatest inspiration, influence & idol while knowing damn well that you'll never be able to meet or shake their gracious hand ever. No matter how many letters I lay forth, words will always cease to be enough. If I became half the man he was, I'd have more than a million achievements, accomplished. Till I see you on the other side, Godfather.. 💔👑

One of my favorite songs! This was written by Marsha Ambrosious (The Songstress from Floetry) very early on in her career. Michael heard it and wanted it for his album. That’s also her singing in the background. Marsha sang this song for her 2011 album too. I really wish they had the opportunity to work on an entire neosoul album together that would have been so dope!
