You’re a great son! It can be horrible seeing your parent sick, especially on vacation, but you were so sweet! My mom and I took a DisneyWorld vacation during New Years 2017 and she got sick and ended up in ICU at the celebration hospital, she almost didn’t make it, but thank the Lord, she is doing perfectly now. It can be really scary when our parents don’t feel well! Thankful he was starting to feel better after some rest!

So sorry you weren't able to dock, but safety is definitely priority! You are always so positive. When my husband and I went on our honeymoon we couldn't stop at key west because of the weather, which we were very sad about, but very thankful the crew and captain had our safety as their number one priority. So glad your dad was under the weather for such a short time and that it didn't last for the rest of the crew. You are so kind and caring, which i am sure helped him to feel better much faster! Can't wait to see your remaining vlogs and hopefully the captain is able to swing by Castaway Cay for y'all before heading back to Texas. Michael, it was definitely heartbreaking to see the ship get farther away from castaway when we were so close to it on the second attempt. I picked this itinerary because of Castaway. Safety always first and i think everyone made the best of it on board that day. Now I have an excuse to book my next DCL :) Sorry about your Dad but so happy he felt better. Good job in taking care of him. I love how amazing our servers are on DCL! They are the best. One night my 12 year old didn’t want to leave kids club and my server carried the trays of food to our cabin so he could eat afterwards. So caring and sweet! Looks like you were near me during the Pirate Party! I was expecting Mickey up on the air but I thought the same as you....probably the winds were not safe. I can’t wait to plan our next cruise with Castaway in the itinerary and fingers crossed. So glad that Dad’s ailment was over quickly! Our hearts went out to you when you had to wave goodbye to your favorite port, and then have other hiccups throughout the day. She lost her life to breast cancer in 2009 and she loved Disney World and gave the magic to me in an annual passholder card! I need a Disney cruise! It seems like u and ur dad had a great time! You’re positivity is contagious and it’s so wonderful!I went with my dad a few years ago on the wonder and there was a hurricane in the waters, our stingray adventure was cut short due to the crazy winds and weather bands coming in...it was so sad but it’s all about safety... like you said we will be back and we are so lucky to beable to go back so often. This was a great example of how having a positive attitude can really turn things around. We also missed castaway on our one and only cruise but after we shed a few tears, we went out and had a blast on the ship. The cast members really went above and beyond to add extra magic to the day because they knew it was a huge disappointment not to get to Castaway and on the 3 day cruise, we had no chance of going another day. Hoping we will get there some day in the not too distant future! 🤞🏼

I would imagine that in Nassau they will repair the generator, they usually do that kind of stuff at Nassau anyway. Disney also can learn that the generators can be a problem and can prevent it in the future. Keep up the good work Michael! I love watching your cruise videos!

So sorry you couldn't go to Castaway Cay. But as we all know safety is the first priority and there's always plenty to do on the ship! I personally love days at sea! Also sorry your dad was sick one night. I know how he feels that happened to me on my last Cruise while I was having dinner at Palo and I had to miss the Beauty and the Beast show because I was sleeping and recovering and later having room service when I felt better. The only place was that they were doing Beauty and the Beast twice on this Cruise so he did get to see it awesome! Can't wait to see the rest of the cruise videos thanks for sharing.

We were on the Dream the last week in November. Couldn't get in Castaway Cay on Wednesday. That became the day at sea. Went back Thursday and they got the ship in. Best weather day of the cruise.

There were more kids at second seating than we expected (week after you went). It was no big deal except for one very large table in the middle of the dining room with at least 6 kids. The parents didn't interact with the children at all - so as soon as they got bored they were running up and down the aisles and having sword fights and screaming...every single night. I didn't really understand that at all. I would have liked to see your positive spin, because by the 3rd night, it got really trying for all of the other diners (and I'm sure the crew that was trying to serve towers of food with the kids running around their legs!). For room service - we ended up doing the cheese plate (extra crackers) and fruit plate alost every day - great late afternoon snack when you have late dining!

I’ve NEVER seen a vlog where the ship couldn’t dock into Castaway Cay! That’s a first for me! I completely agree with you that it’s not the cruise line’s fault and that they put the safety of the passengers and the ship first. It makes for a unique experience! I applaud Disney Cruise Line for taking responsibility for their maneuver into Castaway. Not many cruise lines do that😊

My grandma got ill on my most recent cruise. I had just come back to the room when she bolted to the bathroom and threw up about 6 times. I was tired, and MAYBE a little drunk, but I did my best to help her. She was much better the next morning. It wasn’t Noro because I would’ve caught it too. My best guess is that she ate something that her body REALLY wanted to get rid of.
