Great stuff again Michael! I've been following these driver head-to-head videos since the Cobra F8 days! They've helped me pick a couple of winners for the bag over the past few seasons --- thx as always!

I would definitely play the Mizuno, and such great value for money. I finally ditched my old Mizuno JPX 900 driver to update tech and forgiveness, and the new models just look superb! thanks!

Totally agree with Michael on the feeling and sound of the Titleist Club. I bought my first Titleist Club last Saturday. What a great sounding club and the ball just jumps off of the face. I bought the Titleist TSR 2 4H. It has me curious about the fairway woods and Driver next year. Ive always thought Titleist made great looking clubs but I couldnt hit them as well as other brands. This Titleist TSR2 is one of the most solid clubs I have ever hit regardless of club

Both great looking drivers. Bought the ST-z a few years back after watching your reviews. Although I was fitted for a TSi2 at the time, being a mid Handicapper I couldn't justify the +$200 price premium here in Canada. No regrets. Mizuno makes top quality product. Very stable solid performing driver. The +$ is purely based on what Titliest (and others) can demand with their more prominent marketing campaigns.

Moved from Mizuno to Titleist. TSR3 is the best club ever, tied with the T200 utility.
@stephendibari5010 Жыл бұрын
Nice comparison BUT TSR3 is king. I had TSR2 all this season then last month I got custom fit for TSR3 and it was much better over TSR2. Better smash factor, more solid compared to TSR2. Let’s face it Titleist engineers are brilliant that speed ring behind the face on TSR3 really gives you a slight edge over the TSR2 on center hits. My shot pattern was 10 cm toe and 0 cm vertically. Put the sliding weight in T1 and life is grand !
@cameronloveless1751 Жыл бұрын
I’d be lofting the TSR3 up to 10* to see what happens. If ball speed is mostly retained you might increase carry, and get closer to the magic number of 100 feet height

I just got a 2nd hand ST200G and have been very happy with it so far. I hadn't upgraded my driver since about 2010 so there is a big difference in technology from my old driver. I really believe that between new drivers it's perfectly fine to have brand or cost preference. They all perform so similarly that sometimes the only thing that separates them is the brand or the price. I love Mizuno as a brand so would always go Mizuno over Titleist but I would also game a Wilson or PXG driver if I got one cheap. Great video like as usual ❤

Same! I got it as a tinker around driver with those weights and stuff, got some extra weights too to see how I can change the flight characteristics. I have a PING 425 Max fitted to me so I needed one to mess around with haha

I have the last version of the Mizuno - STG-220 and it’s great but I would love the Titleist. I’ve used my mates and it’s a beast of a driver.

I’d love to see a shaft-fitting session for the Mizuno. I wonder if a different shaft might get the distances a little closer to the TSR3
@TourStageFan Жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. I believe Mike was fitted for the TSR3 at the Titleist fitting center?

If he adjusted the weights to the front it would have decreased the spin and added yardage nut not as forgiving. would like to have seen that.
@dsloan9561 Жыл бұрын
Really consistent spin with the Mizuno there. Spend time with that to dial it in and prob could bump you TSR..

I play a TSi 3. Just wondering if upgrading to the TSR is worth it?

Nice review MIchael..but I have to say that after watching you show for the past few years, and all this hip about the tech on the driver field...I my self do not see that much improvement betweeen most of these driver over the past few years in the hands of a Pro like you other then the price and a few yards distance....Still game the Cobra F 9 and love it...Thanks..

I like that the spin is a little bit jigher on the Mizuno, and the pricetag is not to high compared to the "top" brands. I actually think the Titleist and others are way to expensive.
@GRIFF22 Жыл бұрын
There's a reason Titleist is expensive...it's the number 1 driver on nearly every tour. They can afford to charge the most because they make the best product
@cheemomugdoo799 Жыл бұрын
If you put the weights forward to the face, spin will drop if needed. In terms of pricing, if you play a good amount of golf, what's a hundred extra dollars over the life of the driver?

The spin and carry consistency was impressive from the mizuno given you mis hit a couple. Curious to know whether the drivers played the same length and whether you’ve been fitted for the shaft in the mizuno?
@MichaelNewtonGolf Жыл бұрын
same length, shaft in Mizuno to my spec

Hi Michael, I'm a fan from south korea. Really enjoying your videos. Do yoy think Stealth 2+ offers longer distance than TSR3? I'm currently with tsr3, but some youtubers keep sayin that stealth2 plus is a monster in distance. So can I get a pros switch to it?
@destroythe180days Жыл бұрын
I've played both, except I had the tsr4 and I can confidentially say that the stealth 2 plus and triple diamond go further
@garyverth4887 Жыл бұрын
I can't seem to hit anything as good as titlest tsi3 or tsr3 dunno what it is. Same when I had 905T.

9 yards more total distance with Titleist… I’d keep ‘er!
@atfinthehouse8631 Жыл бұрын
You didn’t vary the weight positioning on the mizuno. Maybe that would have made significant differences between both these drivers?
@ndmagic99 Жыл бұрын
Ball speed difference was insane.
@chrisholmes1395 Жыл бұрын
That might have been shaft + loft and not the actually head (face).
@bmos212 Жыл бұрын
Honestly, ita all in the shaft with the Mizuno, when fitting the stock Smoke green has no feel and struggles to produce good numbers. The 1k Black is a much better shaft.
@chrisholmes1395 Жыл бұрын
Why wouldn't you have done this with your playing shaft? That could certainly have made up the 4mph ball speed? Could have also impacted dispersion numbers? Also what loft were the drivers at? They are not the same if I recall, doesn't Mizuno use .5 degrees with adjustability at 1 degree up/down, while Titliest comes out of box with whole degrees and adjustability up / down by .75?
@uwrossl Жыл бұрын
Mizuno does look great but nothing this year has been able to touch the efficiency of the TSR
@wes9588 Жыл бұрын
Move those weights forward on the Miz and … ??? Hmm?
@MichaelNewtonGolf Жыл бұрын
yeah possibly
@craigjacobsen388 Жыл бұрын
The data is interesting. The spin with the Mizuno was much more consistent. The spin on some of the shots with the Titleist was fine on a launch monitor, but would be scary low out on the course. The strange thing, though, is that the lower and greater variability in spin did not affect dispersion, as the Titleist had better east to west dispersion. If I were fitting you, ha ha, I would move the loft up a degree in the Titleist and see what that did to make the spin more consistent.

Mizuno has 2 mph more swingspeed but 4 mph less ball speed. Any serious driver of the ball watching that just cannot choose the Mizuno over the Titleist!!
