Loved reliving all the insane riffage and phrasing that we all envy 🔥 Wishing you and yours a wonderful new year and looking forward to seeing (and hearing) what 2025 will bring you and all inhabitants of Big Hairy Guiter Nation! 🤘

I had a similar epiphany in the 90's :D Had a beautiful white Kramer Pacer Imperial and all of the sudden I bought a 52RI Tele. I swapped the bridge PU to a DiMarzio Chopper (they haven't had a tele model, so I clipped the sides of the PU and used clay to fix it, lol) but it sounded amazing, I always got compliments! Funny enough, couple of years later Ritchie Kotzen used the Chopper in his signature tele, so Dimarzio strarted to make these for tele as well. Never looked back since then.

At 14:10, yes you need to have a dive only trem to fully retain tension when engaging the D-tuna. If you don't use the pitch up then just get an engl hardtailer or the like installed.

I have VERY often thought about the “ultimate” electric guitar and I also came to the same conclusion it doesn’t exist, you need more than one. So I thought even more about “how many is enough?”… and I finally found the right number… you need *26* electric guitars in your collection. Here they are: 1- Telecaster style 2- Fender Strat style 3- Gibson Les Paul style 4- Hollowbody ES-335 style 5- PRS Custom 22/24 style 6- Shredder/Super Strat such Ibanez 7- 7 strings 8- 8 strings 9- Short scale 22” 10- Baritone 27” 11- Gretsch / Filtertron style 12- P90 style 13- 12 Strings 14- Jazzbox Archtop style (such Gibson L5) 15- Semi-Hollow body style 16- Electric-Acoustic Nylon (such Godin Multiac) 17- Electric-Acoustic Steel (such Tylor T5z) 18- Dobro style 19- Fretless 20- Mini Guitar ¾ 21- Sitar style (Dan Electro Baby Sitar) 22- Banjitar (banjo style) 23- Silent/Traveling guitar 24- MIDI Guitar 25- Headless TruTemp 26- a “Memory” guitar, which would be YOUR favorite, the one you maybe got from your father, grand father, uncle or your best friend, the one guitar that could be any of the 25 listed above, that might not even be the best one, but it’s your favorite one because you have huge memory with it and it’s the main one your children will get in their heritage.

Man that Les Paul sounds great! I had a set of Lollar imperials that I tried in three different guitars and they were the just terrible in my guitars. I think I might have just had a bad set. They were so bright that I had to drastically lower the treble side to try to get an even sound… your lollars sound amazing though 👍🏽

I'm no where near the player you are, but the story of the blue Friedman (Grover built) resonated with me! When he moved to TN, I ordered one of those (OG) T-styles. I was crushed when I couldn't really get along with it. The pickups were super hot and I went to change the bridge pickup out and found out why it had that "hollow" sound and felt weird when playing. It had that "boat" cut as you said. I learned a tough lesson and lost $ getting out from under it!

I just said yesterday on live chat Shabat lion green is one of my favorite. Yea if your gf buys the guitar on credit marry her in the store. That PRS it’s best to have the older ones. The newer ones have nitro and are aging too fast. I think they should change them back. That type of guitar doesn’t need a relic job. Too fancy. Oh the PRS you traded was nice I like that charcoal striped. I think it’s charcoal.

@Watching-h5r5 сағат бұрын
I’ll tell you. I don’t think it’s a secret I hope not. But that first run of Friedman guitars was Avi Shabat making them. Then he moved onto his own brand. That’s why they’re similar. If you go back to namm quite a few yrs back and punch in on utube Irwin Thomas Bogner demos when the ecstasy pedals came out and the Atma Irwin is using a light blue tele. Everyone was asking what is it etc. that was a Shabat tele. Really nice Avi is a master luthier. Then somewhere in the middle of that time he did the first run of Friedman guitars. Then he moved on to his own shop and is making great guitars. I’ve never heard a complaint ever. They’re made really really well.

Michael - Are you a Jew? Is that why you have so many Shabat guitars?
@BigHairyGuitars14 сағат бұрын
No, but the best guitar builder in the world’s last name is Shabat. I haven’t played a brand that is so consistently good… guitar after guitar… excellence.

@@BigHairyGuitars I looked at their site and see the makers last name is Shabat.... I thought it was a religious thing. They seem pretty nice... with as many as you own I was shocked not to see your photo on their Artist roster on their site. I never heard of them or seen them until you. Well I been watching your channel about ten years so I seen them but didn't know what they were. They seem to be good for what you pointed out, custom features. But, at $4,500 base prices, that's Suhr & Les Paul Custom territory almost.... very hard for a brand that's only been around about 10 years to compete with them. I am hoping you do a video next showing every amp you own. You have a pretty big collection, about 25 guitars I counted, the most I ever owned all at one time was only twelve. I watched part of your livestream, so hey, why don't you just make a 2nd youtube channel where you just post whatever you wanna post without any concern whatsoever if it gets 0 views or thousands???? Or is it just about money? Because seems like it'd be fun for you to do that, and I personally would find it more fun watching you be YOU natural & unfiltered without any agenda or goal. If you need ideas for content dude I have tons... it'd be interesting to see you do a series of videos "a day in the life".... show us what your real day to day life is like.... show us what your actual worklife if like how you make your income, you do film compositions, so show us a behind the scenes real look at that, let us see how you get those jobs, how you do those jobs. I'd like to see the nitty gritty of all that kind of stuff.
