Michel Camilo feat. by WDR Big Band - And Sammy Walked In

Together with the WDR Big Band, pianist Michel Camilo performs his composition "And Sammy Walked In". The arrangement is by Michael Philipp Mossman, who also leads the WDR BIG BAND. Other musical guests include: Lincoln Goines (bass), Cliff Almond (drums) and Eliel Lazo ( percussion). Solos in this musical piece are played by Rob Bruynen on trumpet and and Paul Heller on tenor saxophone. Produced during the dress rehearsal in June 2015 at WDR Studio 4 / Cologne.
You can always hear it clearly in his piano playing, - Michel Camilo comes from the Dominican Republic. He prefers to move casually at the intersection of jazz and Latin-American influences. In addition to the dance-like lightness, it is above all the Caribbean richness of sound that characterizes his piano playing and also his compositional technique.
