Michael hated to say goodbye! He didn't have to, he can never be forgotten, neither his strong clear strong piano playing nor his humble personality. Just reading through all the comments shows how many different emotions he was capable of conveying from a dimension of its own. This melody is eternal and I just play it and play it and…. RIP Michael.

Just discovered this amazing artist, Michel Petrucciani, purely by accident, or was it fate? I was turning the radio dial and heard Renato Carosone performing Tu Voi Fare L' Americano, so I naturally stopped to enjoy. At the break, the DJ stated he was featuring famous Italian pianists. He described the next artist, Michel Petrucciani as French born but of Italian parents. He played Looking Up and I immediately fell in love with it. I used to be a big jazz fan, especially of upbeat and Brazilian jazz. This song immediately reminded me of Spyro Gyra. Now that I am exploring Michel Petrucciani, I am in awe. What a talent and a gift to all of us. So sad that he had such a difficult life, but so happy for him that he was able to live out his passion throughout his brief life of 36 years.
