Michel Petrucciani, you are a Timeless Treasure . Thank You for the memories of your brilliance, carefully crafted progressions, jaw dropping improvisation, immaculate arrangements of all the standards, especially from the American Song Book, and above all, your humility. ...Super trio ! magnifique concert !

It is really sad when people blindly like a person's music. I listened to Caravan multiple times and it goes from Phantom of the Opera-esque to Charlie Chaplin silent film music to Film Noir back to Phantom of the Opera. !?!?!?!... seriously, I wish he was alive because I would not be intimidated in to silence. Then there is Love Letter. It is as if because he composed it, everybody just goes along without questioning it. I didn't hear much love. Easily mistaken for generic music played by someone tinkering on a piano. I am referring to the composition. Not the playing technique. Lounge jazz, perhaps. Shooting Stars had a great idea in the intro but then it's as if he got way too distracted and then at the end came to. Once again, I don't blindly listen to people.

This video shows great angles that demonstrate the amazing physical feat that he was performing. Even with the modified pedal system, you can see that he isn't quite comfortably accessing them (at least not to my eyes). His position on the bench seems precarious, and the bench was uneven to start but he did not have the luxury of readjusting himself as gracefully as a person of average height. His posture is quite remarkable, and appears labored. Yet, his playing is so easy and gentle, and does not betray the tension. In a similar way, Bill Evans used to look pretty uncomfortable too!
