Sadly, both the Roux legends have left us on this earth but they have left a legacy with their scholarship and the many great chefs they have trained. R.I.P Albert and Michel.

I was so saddened to hear this. Even more so that it wasn’t publicly mentioned in our national media. I love Michel Roux, and the generation of great chefs he had a hand in guiding and inspiring. I wish the whole Roux family love & peace. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Search for " The Roux Brothers" on youtube. A very early cooking show. Fantastic stuff with legendary banter.

Michel Roux was an inspirational chef, he looked very frail when he was last on TV. Hopefully he's having some fabulous conversations about food with some of the historical great chefs who've influenced our food even now. Slightly saddened that James Martin is now calling all sorts of chefs culinary geniuses & I wish he wouldn't. The description of genius is overused and has lost its significance as a result. There are many chefs who are very good at what they do, some of whom have made a lasting impression, but genius is a bit over the top for a lot of them.

I'd tend to agree with you that superlatives are over used but to be fair to James Martin where Michel Roux is concerned it is genuinely heartfelt.
