@sugarbear91187 жыл бұрын
brenme35 The money is not the only reason that women stay when they are physically and mentally abused! They lose their confidence and self esteem which makes them afraid to leave because they don’t believe they can make it on their own. Many of these women are embarrassed to have their friends, relatives or even strangers know that they are involved in a relationship like this. Many of these women are white, black, etc., educated, uneducated, rich, poor, and in between. Having lived in a household and seeing my mother mentally and physical abused affected me so much! I always wondered why my mom would take her beatings and leave then my dad would scare her into coming back! So, I listened to Michel’le and just had a real cry!

AS a two time survivor. I believe her story. Most women remain silent about being abused. Most of you think because a person holds a title that they are INCAPBLE of being an abuser. Abuse can happen to anyone of you and you'd be surprised who the victimizers or the perpetrators are. so, basically it could be a pastor, a teacher, a doctor, a lawyer, a artist, rapper, white collar, blue collar, law enforcement, all are capable of abusing someone they know. You could be friends with someone right now being abused but bc you don't see the physical sign, you wouldn't know unless they told you. Stop being judgmental based on a person's look or title.

Her story about been beaten brought back memories to me of my childhood and seeing my mom beaten and mentally abused. I grew up in an upper middle class family with two married educated parents. I thought that when I got married that I would never let myself go through abuse by my husband! Thought that I did better than my mother but I found myself in the same situation as my mom. However, my husband did not physically hit me but he mentally abused me! I stayed in the relationship just like my mom thinking that things would get better and that my two boys needed their father! Finally, after 26 years of a shitty marriage, an illegitimate child of his, I got a divorce! I received my Masters degree in business while married but still endured abuse! I am proud of myself for leaving despite what I went through!

You know what! I am glad that she is doing a movie about her life. I am a father with two daughters and a son. No man should not beating up a women. Especially the damage she been through. She is lucky that she is alive. And believe me, she is fighting back for respect. It will always come back and haunt you when you hurt any women who go through their pain and suffering. She is traumatized for the rest of their life and I asked God to protect her. For Michele'le, Let her rise and get back to the top. She has a life to live and prosper. For Dr.Dre and Suge Knight, just appologize and leave her alone before you add more suffering to her.

18:04 that transition by Envy was so awkward! Michele is talking about being in the ER after Suge knocked her jaw out of place and he busts in with "I think Suge is needed in LA"????? Even Angela said "what?" at 18:08. Either Envy ain't that bright or is socially awkward or he doesn't listen when people are talking.

ocky88 or he's been paid to keep the topics on a "normalized" scale. He asked if she used to box and then interrupts her talking about being in the hospital after a nasty confrontation? Sounds less like an idiot and more like deliberate action

it's sad that she felt it was normal, and to this day feels like its something that "just happened". it's even more unfortunate that she had no support system to let her know it was not OK. her attitude about it now shows it all.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with Michele's grandmother. All men don't cheat. Yes, there's some serious bad apples out there but you do have a few lucky charms stashed away. I'm blessed to have found one tucked away waiting just for me. I must say he hasn't cheated on me and we've been married 6 amazing years!!! Ladies there are some in the world you have to be patient and wait for him to show up. When he does allow him to be the head and you his help meet-that's the ONLY way it'll work.

You literally never know if someone is being faithful or not until the infidelity is found out, so you technically don’t know if you have a lucky charm or not. We just believe and have faith.

Well said bro. I watch the movie and the movie was great, then I look up there music, and the only "Positive" songs was F the police. Every other song was bitch this or hoe that, or kill and use drugs or sell drugs. These guys were not activist. They really were misguided youth, but man bro I think we have lost at least two generation and we are working on the third. The more I read up black history and this country the more my heart is broken.
