I was obsessed with Mod About You two summers ago, too! Love the Essie coral, will be looking for it. Oh, also for Top coats I used to use Seche Vite and then Out the Door and then something from Nails Alive, but my newest love is CND Super Shiney Top Coat. I was on vacay and needed something in a bind and this was all the beauty supply store had and it actually turned out great!

i tried on that new chanel np black pearl. OMG it is gorgeos and so unique. by seeing swatches on the cop it just look like a perlized grey black, but once u see it in person swatches its more of a green black. i love it !!!!

Oh my gosh, you need to try the Revlon Quick Dry top coat in the frosted bottle. It's absolutely amazing and makes your nail polish last so long! I've tried a whole bunch (like a whole BUNCH) and this is amazing. I personally hate OPI's top coat simply because I was expecting a lot and it ended up being awful. It made my nailpolish thick and chip faster than the cheaper ones I've tried.

I use Nail Magic (sallys) as a top coat. Its actually a nail hardener but it does give a glossy finish and really does strengthen your nails and helps the color stay on for daysc:)

try Essie Good to Go, I need to check the ingredients again but I know it has far less chemicals than Seche Vite but works pretty much the same and dries super fast. I can't wait to try Black Pearl, I made the mistake of sending it to my office so I wil have to wait until the new year to try it!

You might also want to try Fiji by essie. Its a light pastel pink but has the exact same consistency as mint candy apple and van de go, its just light pink.

I think as opposed to having a sheer pink base, it is a very sheer white/beigier base, and then the standard opaque white for the tips

Some really nice polishes. I have a really pretty blue from Hard Candy that looks similar to the Tiffany colored one, but it's only $4. It really surprised me at how long it wears and the color is so close to the one from Channel. Happy New Year!! ~twyla

I've also tried all the "big" topcoats and I don't like seche vite either. I was actually not real pleased with Orly No Chip either. I just started using Sally Hansen quick dry top coat and found it dries almost as fast as seche vite. I highly recommend it!

a really similar color to the chanel black pearl is sally hansen's xtreme hard nails GUNMETAL! its more of a blue undertone than green, but its very pretty :)

hey michele, revlon has a nail color[it's # 907 steel-her heart] that is really similar to the Chanel nail color that your wearing in the video. idk if they would be a dupe but it look really similar. just thought i would let you know. :)

I have very good luck using sally hansen xtreme wear clear polish as a base coat and a top coat....nails can last over a week with minimal tip wear. :)

Hey Michele! good point about the topcoat if you change your polish every two days! its annoying getting it off!! I was in Sally's recently and saw a Seche Vite product that had a warning that it can cause cancer in the state of CA or something like that. I was like WHAT the ??? having just gone through cancer I was like hell to the NO! xoxo Michele

Rimmel Black is a wonderful dupe for the Chanel black. Very pigmented, two coats only. Rimmel is only about $2.99

I'm a fan of Out The Door top coat... Not sure of the chemical content but it dries quick! Another good one by the same company (ihm?? Something like that) is Northern Lights if you want a hint if super fine glitter.

You should try the Poshe Super Fast Drying Topcoat. It dries just as quick as the Seche Vite, but --> No Formaldehyde / No Toluene / No Nitrocellulose

@smileymakeuplover i saw thebubblegumprincess talking about this and she read the disclaimer out on her vid...it was along the lines of 'the product contains an ingredient which has been known to cause birth defects and reproductive organ failure'. I know that's not word for word but it was similar to that. The ingredient is called 'TOLUENE' (i hope i spelled it correctly) and some nail polishes contain formaldehyde which has been known to cause cancer.
