I'm a stay-at-home mom that I used to work since I was 13 I have had a job and being home not working is probably one of the hardest things because it does take your power it takes your stability when you get in a fight you get worried that you're not financially able to get out of a relationship if you want to because you're not working because you stay at home with your kids

I am so impressed with your responses to the “financial advice” questions. Advising women (in particular) to not give up their power due to lack of money, urging them to learn about finance and not be afraid of it, is incredibly important and missing from how our females are educated and raised. I fell into finance serendipitously, work wise, and it changed my life in many ways. But the biggest change was not needing a Mr. Moneybags and - to your point- not giving away my power. I am so glad that you articulated the proud feeling that one has when they nurture long-term relationships with friends. I feel the same way. My best friend I have had since the 4th grade and we are still best friends....my other 2 close friends are friends of 20 and 30 years. Plus, the friends that I have made as an adult are wonderful as well. It takes work to nurture relationships - it does not just happen. That is so wonderful, Michele - brava!

In the vein of the gifts for the men in your life, I’ve switched to giving consumables, particularly for adults. Spices, oil/vinegar, candies, luxe versions of things they use all the time. For some of my friends we go to a nice lunch or dinner in January when the chaos is over.

Loved your comment about the pressure that's being put on women about aging or looking a certain way. I have a 10 year old granddaughter and she's already feeling pressured to looking a certain way in school if she wants to fit in. How boring life would be if we all looked the same. I'm trying to instill in her that it's much better to appreciate the differences.

Sooooo I stopped smoking cigarettes for over 30 yrs too! Then I started during Covid out of who knows what and I enjoyed every bit of it, but I had to stop again because I was enjoying it little too much! So yes, do not start because quitting the second time around was not easy either

I can definitely relate to the "no hobbies" lifestyle. I used to teach Zumba, run, bake, go to barre, salsa lessons and dabble in new things but since picking up KZbin it really does consume most of my life since every week there's deadlines. I try to spend my free time working out, walking outside, spending time with my boyfriend and catching the occasional Celtics game.

Its so great to be seeing you everyday for mishmas. :) I absolutely love having you in the background while I work my mundane corporate job lol I also have higher iron levels. I spoke to my doctor about this and she said a few of her other patients also have the same. I spoke to the specialist about this as well, and none of my other blood work or lifestyle was abnormal. So we have just been monitoring it and it's been stable for the past few years, as in it still sits a little higher than normal but, normal for me. Probably just keep an eye on it if it changes at all.
