@@colorado_koolaid2625 These are almost as good on snow as proper winter tires. They're the best on wet surface, better than summer or winter tires and in the summer when it's dry and safe they're just as good as summer tires.

@arafatasif7829 the best winter tyre or Summer tyre, they lack maybe 5 percent. That's how good these tyres really are. So for those who don't want to hassle with summer and winter tyre, this is the best option. They are also very good with aqua planning and driving through snow. While they have the best braking in Summer, the rest is top notch but slightly less than an ultimate summer or winter tyre. I have a Fiesta MK8 ST with front wheel drive and Limited slip differential. 260bh and it grips very good when I kick down full throttle. Even better than the Michelin Pilot Sport 4. Hope this helps.

Thanks for producing and posting the video. Good confirmation of what's been advertised about the CC2s. Purchased a set in July and in addition to some all weather road trips I have driven on dry, wet, sandy and muddy trails in the hills around Wendover UT as well. They work great everywhere. Still have a final seasons left on my Blizzaks so I figured I'd have to wait for snow but, road trip coming up and the Bliz's have a woob woob noise at highway speed. So I'll make the switch early and enjoy a great ride south and not worry about 'running risk' with snow when we return in a couple of weeks. Actually hoping for snow now. Touareg TDI

My wife's 2016Toyota Rav4 and now my 2019 KIA Niro Hybrid has Cross Climate 2s. Hers have been on over a year and are still perfect. I just put them on my Niro this week. Not much snow in Kansas but the Primacy Michelins (OEM) were awful in the rain, and when it did snow slid all over the place. I expect that will all improve now. She has never had problems in the wet or the few times it has snowed.

I was always really impressed with not only their snow performance, but in the wet as well. Just like I made the comment about driving in a snowstorm feeling "like a Sunday drive", I had the same experience in heavy rain. We don't get a lot of rain here in Colorado, but when it comes it's torrential.

Thank you for putting this up. I just replaced the cheap do nothing tires that Subaru felt compelled to put on my 2021 Forester Touring with the CrossClimate 2 tires. I am in northeast Ohio and we really have not had snow to test them out in as of yet. I ran Blizzak WS 80's on my 2014 Forester Touring but could not use them on this car as the tires are different sizes. Did homework and came up with the CrossClimate 2. So appreciate this video. Safe travels to you.

I'm also in NE Ohio, how have they been since this last snowstorm!? Bought some to replace my wife's 21 RAV4's factory tires (which suck in the snow but are apparently expensive af), and now my truck needs new tires after realizing the leak in one was because of a weird wear pattern. Anyways. Thinking about getting them for it as well, but they're almost $300 more for the set. Better make sure they're amazing before going all extra on them lol

@@hdwblade The CrossClimate 2 is a totally amazing tire. Excellent performance in the snowstorm and snow that has followed. I do not regret for one second the purchase of them instead of running with Blizzaks again. Not disappointed in the least. Stop on a penny in heavy wet snow. Gotta love that. I also don't have to switch out the tires any longer which is a huge bonus for me. Go for it, you'll be glad you did!!

I couldn't use these tires even if I wanted to: They don't come in the larger sizes Mine are 285/70-17...and I think 245 is the highest they go. While I don't expect my Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires to do as well in the snow as the Cross Climate 2, hopefully they'll do well enough! -- BR

@@joet2678 It seems all of the "preferred/serious" off-road tires (meaning, the KO2, DuraTrac and AT3W for 3 such more popular examples, and which often come OEM on new vehciles) are probably about the same in snow performance-wise -- not sure one stands out from the others enough to be a clear winner. But when my OEM/factory Falken AT3Ws wear out (in 3-4 years?) I'll be looking to see what woudl be the best tires then and look at the "traditional" offerings mentioned, or maybe some NEW tire being introduced/coming in the future. THIS year, we haven't had much snow in the Colorado Springs (CO) area, and I may not be staying in CO for the next Winter/snow season -- may be going back to TX (November 2022). If so, then snow performance wouldn't be that important (as snow would be rare in West TX -- ELP). RAIN would be about the most "inclement weather" experienced. ;-) However, I DO go out in the desert fairly often on some weekends, but out there the most serious obstacle is deep/soft sand...and so pretty much any tires would work (aired-down, of course) -- even slicks! In the meantime, I hope my AT3Ws give me a pretty long tread-life, especially given how expensive our larger (mine are 33s) off-road tires are -- for whatever 4x4 you drive! Next month I'm taking my Gladiator on a 2K mile road-trip...they'll be getting a bit of road-wear (on the Interstate) for most of it. Need to get a tire-rotation done beforehand! Happy Trails...or HWY, whichever you do, -- BR

Ramble from a guy up in Rollinsville CO, have had these on my VW Alltrack for about 1.5 years now. Out the gate, they're superb in torrential rain, wet snow up my steep road was solid til maybe 10" or so (compared to my Winter Command tires, those things plowed through maybe 16" of powder and 12" of wet uphill even from dead stops). At half tread, they show a bit of age on the slush, but still rather solid on packed snow... by which I mean "I need to go about 5mph below the speed limit on slush, and can only go the speed limit on snow" lol. New winter tires, I could floor my car and zero traction loss in any condition, CC2's had a little bit of TCS kick in for dirt/snow out the gate. At half tread, can still safely stop and start from standstill up/downhill without any slow sliding, tested on Loveland Pass today in the slush/snow, also tested them this winter around my roads as a safety stop test. I found them to be kinda bad in the mud last year though, even new, I had to really goose it around my roads (never got stuck but I don't like having to floor my car around dirt roads with bad traction). I still give em a 10/10 though for what they are. I'm considering getting new winter tires soon to be 100% safe since I drive long distance 3x/wk up/down to Denver, but completely recommended for anyone in suburban areas with semi-use in trash conditions, and still highly recommended if you live in snowy areas for the "year round" part, you just have to be content going the speed limit or slightly below when they wear *sigh* lol.

Blizzaks are definitely a very well know great performer as a dedicated winter tire; however, due to it's not a full depth tread tire it becomes just another All-Season tire once the winter compound wares off after 2/3 winter season use. I just retired a full depth treaded Micheline X-Ice Xi2 (and 5 years old Conti TrueContact with 6.7mm tread depth) after 10 years that still has 4.4mm tread depth with a new set of CrossClimate 2 on my 19 years old/187,000 miles van this spring after using a set on another car for 19 months/37,000miles and they are great between 104F ~ -40F so far.

Looks like I'm in for a treat when I upgrade from my CC pluses You'll have to give us a wear update in the future. My CC pluses are @ 45k and just getting down to 4/32. They are still almost as good as new in everything except in very deep slush. I've also noticed that threshold braking is FAR better than letting the ABS kick in with these tires. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's almost half the stopping distance with threshold braking on ice. I often have to actively manage the space behind me so I don't get rear ended by people with lesser tires. 4:36 I applaud your driving judgement. That driver should not be on that road in those conditions, whether they or the vehicle cannot handle it. I've watched "that guy" cause an accident more than once, and we don't even have the same kind of long steep grades around here.

... honestly feel like a Sunday drive...😆Thank you for making this video. I do enjoy my CC2 for the last 19 months/37,000 miles now on a FWD HEV between 104~-40F temperature and so far they are much safer/quieter/stable/responsive/traction than the OEM Michelin Energy Saver A/S. I had to put on winter tire (Michelin X-Ice Xi3) two months after buying the car in 2019; however, got the CC2 just before that winter was over and had never put the Xi3 winter tire back on since then. The pace of mind of never have to think about the cost or when to swap the tire (or wondering if I swapped too early or too late) at any condition is a good lifestyle for me. Recently saw a professional review comparing this tire with the dedicated new Micheline X-Ice Snow and the result is: IN SNOW CONDITION ONLY, the CC2 is 94% as capable as Micheline's own dedicated snow tire in breaking/acceleration/handling but WAY BATTER in all other conditions and seasons. I know I can be a responsible driver by applying 6% of carefulness and awareness when driving in poor winter conditions on the road while getting free front/rear directional tire rotation from my garage whenever they are to remove the tires off to inspect/service my breaks yearly.
@JohnSmith-nu4fx

This is exactly my feeling as well. Are they 100% as capable as something like the X-ice or or a Blizzak? No, but are they +90% as good without needing to do a change over, or just staying home .05% the rest of the time? Absolutely.
@Jeo-What
@Jeo-What Жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-nu4fx Here is my math: X-Ice Snow is 6% improvement over the X-Ice Xi3 in the snow and X-Ice Xi3 is 10% better than X-Ice Xi2 in the snow so, CrossClimate 2 is 94% as good as X-Ice Snow in the snow so the CrossClimate 2 is as good as a dedicated snow tire from two years ago except, it can also be used at any season and perform as well as any premium All-Season and All-Weather tires. Good enough for me... since I don't drive like I have a broken right foot in any condition!

These last longer and perform much better in snow when worn but still within the legal tread wear for winter driving than a true snow tire. When new they are with 1-2m of stopping performance of a true snow tire like a Blizzak too.
