Great test Chopsy, incidentally having recently tested the BMW S1000R and M1000R I must admit that IMO the S1000R is a far better every day road bike, I found the M too rigid and basically a super bike with flat bars and no fairing and for me at least the S had all the power needed.
@marcusgeorge18257 ай бұрын
It’s interesting when it comes to the choice of tyres. One example (keeping in mind that I once for several years was testing each at Phillip Island during racing seasons), is an ex teammate, racing the exact same bikes. With lap times separating us by tenths of a second, ran different brands and were slower if we swapped tyres. It’s something you can only grasp when testing back to back, on the same bike and track to really determine what suits you best. This being said, for 99% of all riders, just go with what is recommended from your trusted service centre as these days, apart from the OEM rubber, are better than the rider on them.

We regard to your comment @17:13 about the new asymmetrical tread patterns Chopsie..... I prefer the old pattern of the outgoing Power GP. It was very distinctive, whereas the new PowerGP2 pattern is nigh-on identical to the sports tyres offered by many of the other brands. Nearly all (same genre) tyres are beginning to look the same these days, with only very minor differences between the tread patterns of the various brands. In short, tyre brands are losing their individual identity.

The bridgestone do take a little while to heat up, but after they're fully up to temp I actually prefer the feel of them, they have this nice soft way to them, they're not sketchy in the cold/wet but they do need some heat to really get in their happy place, so IMO the better choice for summer fun in nice weather where you can get some heat in them.
