After a few hundred miles on the Michelin Tracker's, I thought I would give my opinions on them.
Main info is at 01:20, where I list all my pros and cons.

Make sure you pause and read the PROS and CONS at 01:17. (Also read little bit right at the end) As there is some stuff you should know before buying.

Great video! Certainly helped with considering the tracker!

Thanks for video. I bought an auci tracker, but only in the back. IRC remains in the lead.

Absolutely agree with all your comments. Done trails up in Northumberland, TET in SW, trails in mid Wales and also a 300 mile motorway journey. Reasonably hate them on the road, especially compared with stock, and tracked road surfaces and imperfections which can be alarming at times on the motorway. Confidence inspiring off road though!

Spot on. Yep not for lots of road work.

Good review! You don't often find short, to the point opinions like this. I don't know anything about the Trackers but I've ridden on the lanes with a mate that's got the original Honda fitment and they're absolute sh**e off the tarmac!

I agree trackers are much better than stock tyres in the mud. But as general purpose duel sport tyres I didn’t think the stock tyres were quite as bad as everyone says. I did all of the TET Devon and Cornwall using stock tyres and yes I wished I had changed tyres sooner. But they did get me everywhere I wanted to go. And their on road manners is surprisingly good. I can see why Honda chooses those tyres to be honest. Basic mostly street friendly tyres that can handle a bit of gravel and dry mud ok.

very helpful Blake, I believe the Tracker is officially a motocross tyre (albeit fully road legal) meaning the 120mm measurement is across the side walls rather than across the knobs (in the case of an Enduro tyre) hence a 120 Tracker comes up more like a 140 Enduro and for the CRF it might be more appropriate to fit a 110 or maybe even a 100. Did you have to fit a longer chain? Also, does the bigger tyre put the speedo out? The Tracker's predecessor, the AC10, wasn't a great tyre, especially the front - long wearing but awful grip on wet tarmac - but the Tracker seems to be a big improvement and represents decent value for money.

Clearance and stock chain size was fine with the bigger tracker. But I really noticed the seat was higher. (Especially when brand new swapping from a worn down smaller tyre.) No doubt the speedo is a bit out. But they always are a bit out anyway. (They normally over estimate speed. So now it’s probably a bit closer to true speed. (If u see what I mean) The tracker is still a bit sketchy on wet roads. (As I said in the “CONS” list.) And I definitely wouldn’t recommend them to people who do lots of road miles in the rain. But I’m just a bit more careful on wet roads. I’m very mindful not to grab brakes or carry too much speed.

I don't mind the rear. Hooks up well. The front is awful in slippy mud and when you couple that with worse road manners I genuinely preferred the all round performance of the stock IRC. The front is incredibly twitchy with a tracker fitter.

Just mounted these on my CRF300L not really done any miles on them, but the stock tires were really dangerous on wet grass, I hope these are way better.

Yep they will be. Just watch out for wet roads though. These trackers are deff more sketchy on the road compared to stock IRCs

wow, so much bigger in size. Did you noticed any difference in gearing or lost of power?
@biscuitsalive

Not really in gearing/power. But seat was obviously higher. (No doubt does change gearing. But just didn’t notice it.)

Thanks for this review, helpful, have tried a few different tyres, not these but have ordered a rear to replace my usual Pirelli MT21s, which are great but generally shot after 2k miles and more expensive. Will see how this one goes. Thanks again.

Bought this tires for my 300L too, but rear is 110/100, fit much better than 120/90, but still wider than stock.

I saw several people who were using the bigger ones so I copied them. Clearance is tight, but seems ok.

@@biscuitsalive I also switched shock spring, have 98mm rider sag. With 110/100 tyre I don`t reach the groud with my full feet. I`am 176cm tall

110 and 120 shouldnt be much different, 110 is mx dimension, I got it on my bike, width is 126mm, and about 2-3mm more is most that can fit without rubbing somewhere so 120/90 cant be much wider if at all.

These tires are nearly impossible to find in North america. I can't seem to find out if its sold under a different name here or we just don't get it?

Have you ever got your drone to track you as you go across open ground? Or maybe even orbit you as you ride along? 😀

I did that with a mountain bike and was surprised how well it did. I was trying to avoid it and going up and down hills etc. but it stayed on me.

Did you Sell the T7?
@biscuitsalive
@biscuitsalive Жыл бұрын
Yep. Loved it. But as I was going for more technical “off-road” riding the weight was holding me back. The bike will go anywhere. (With right tyres) But if things go shiny side down it’s a much more stressful and difficult situation with a bike over 200kg. Honda gives me much more confidence in tricky situations. (And self rescue is much much easier)

You're riding so much better...partly the tyres, partly you?

Bit of both. I’m still a very average rider. But my confidence has grown over the last year. :)
