Michel, as someone who has had active lupus since 2005, please don’t go off birth control without the approval and constant monitoring of your rheumatologist. I did that years ago and the hormone change caused a flare that landed me in the hospital for 7 weeks. Not trying to be bossy, just concerned. ❤

I know a lot of people kind of push for having children earlier, but I really agree with you that it's nice to have time with your significant other before changing your life to an even greater degree. My husband and I were married 10 years before we had our son. I was 33 and the timing felt really comfortable for us. We're all on different journeys so it's important for everyone to do what is best for them. I have lots of friends who had children in their early twenties and are really happy with that decision, too.

I’ve done EMDR bc of my PTSD & it changed my life. Within 3 months, I was 90% back to my old self esp after trying so many other things for a year before EMDR & they helped but nothing like EMDR. It’s an amazing technique.

Please be aware that even with careful tracking, the fertility awareness method is not very effective especially if you have any irregularities in your cycle. So if you are not planning on having kids for a few years it might not be the best option.

Just something to think about is there’s a lot of studies coming out how birth control is causing hormone issues later because it’s suppresses you’re hormones for so long. I had to do hormone therapy for 2 years before having kids because my body didn’t know how to naturally produce hormones. Just something to look into or research. I’m not a professional but that is what I had to deal with.

Please don't spread misinformation about birth control, if you are not a medical professional. It's true that there can be a delay in return to ovulation with long-acting injectables (depot provera) but oral contraceptive pills do not affect future fertility. Fertility is multifactorial and most women who struggle with fertility after getting off birth control often have other factors at play (PCOS, etc.). The narrative on social media that birth control is dangerous / harmful to fertility is creating so much fear among young people. Please be careful about perpetuating this. Discuss your concerns with a medical professional before taking advice from an unlicensed person on the internet ~ Friendly neighborhood nurse practitioner

For my rings, I wear my wedding band constantly, but I only wear my engagement ring if I'm leaving the house for more than just shopping, so church, dinner, small group, going out for the day. I don't wear it around the house, doing errands, or working out. This is great for the ring and I don't have to worry about it getting caught on anything. I started that when I had vintage rings in my first marriage, as that what they did back in the day.

I don’t know about the US, but in Australia you are legally entitled to use BOTH your maiden name and married name. You do not surrender your birth certificate when you are married like you would if you changed your name by deed poll.

My parents had me at age 32( mom),35(dad). They married in 1965 at 21 and 24 and made the conscious decision to wait five years to have kids because they wanted to be together as a married couple alone to focus on their marriage and my mom’s professional career as a dancer.And once 1970 hit, they decided to try and finally succeeded with me in 1976! Watching your baby shower video, I was in awe of how beautiful everything was, but that stupid judgy voice in my head that I try to evict was all "I wish I had a rich friend to throw me parties/I wish I was rich enough to throw my friends parties like that!" Describing it as a line on your budget makes it make so much sense. It's all about how you allocate! You're so generous. I don't have an equivalent dollar budget line as that, I'm sure, but people might question what I spend on seeds and my garden :P Also, I've been on birth control or pregnant for much of the last 20 years. Now that our family making journey is over, I'm excited to see what my body is like without the added hormones, once my husband goes on his birth control journey.

Hi, Michel. When I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, I designated one day a week (usually Sunday) as "jammie day" and did nothing but lay around and relax - I didn't go out, have guests, or do any housework. Having this one day helped me get through the work week without having to use a personal/sick day. My family would occasionally surprise me with meal deliveries and special treats on these days and never did anything to draw me out of the house because they knew that exhaustion was one of the major symptoms of RA and they wanted me to get some rest. Sounds like a shopping trip for "jammies", right? 🙂

In France for birth control we have access to "sterilet en cuivre" which is a system with no hormones which translate as "hormon free IUD" : basically the copper stops the egg from being fertilized

Thats so funny; my bf is also a third (Matthew Francis). We’ve both agreed that we want our first boy to have his own unique name but if we have a second boy we would continue the chain lol
