Hi Michel - here’s an idea for storing your piano keyboard under the bed, if you have the height space. Go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and get a piece of scrap lumber cut to size of keyboard. Attach caster wheels to bottom and one or two pull handles to edge of board. Then it can slide in and out from under the bed whenever you need it. Cheers from NYC! Katia

I work for an electrician. I know the extra expense is hard, but it is a REALLY good thing you had him come over. I cannot tell you how many people have called asking us to come over because they have fried their outlets/wiring/switches. Because they didn't about how certain things should be hooked up or wired. And how a lot of places like garages/sheds (not saying yours, just in general) have shoddy wiring done by an amateur that end up causing a lot of problems.

Good choice with the top loading washer!! I despise front loading because you have to leave the door open ALL the time for them to not get moldy but they are usually not in a whole different space so like its just unrealistic! Love those!!!

I literally just bought a new washer/dryer set today too! One thing I'll add & this my be a personal/work preference is the top loaders without an agitator doesn't clean as well. Will add I heard that from farmers who get filthy all the time & my husband is in welding which is also filthy so that's what I went for. I'm glad you got these & got the wiring fixed! Fixing a problem is an investment & not a expense!

I personally will only buy front-loading, especially having a large family, and never have had one issue. I've raised 7 kids and a husband who worked with dirt & cement so it's been deeply tested. Our first front loader I had it for over 11 ys...not one single issue ever. Only reason I bought a 2nd set was I chose to give the old set to my daughter when she got her 1st apartment. It still works fine for her. Never had one issue with water sitting or smell because I simply leave door slightly jar when not in use, which I always did for the same reason with top loaders.

Front loading washers and dryers very common here in the UK, as machines are generally installed into kitchens or utility rooms and under countertops. Never heard of one going mouldy, does your mum empty the filter on a regular basis as it sounds like the water isn't properly draining? I keep my washing machine door slightly ajar so air can circulate between washes. The only issue I've ever had was with biofilm growing in the washing liquid/powder compartment, which was sorted with a thorough scrubbing and a wash with bicarb and vinegar only.

Since the pandemic started, I’ve been doing my own dip nails! I got a starter kit from Kiara Sky (I later found out that there’s a ton of brands too) and some colors. It takes some time, but in the long run in much more inexpensive than getting my nails done at a salon :)

The front loaders have really improved from before. I got an LG front load washer and dryer and I absolutely love it!!! I have never had a problem with water sitting. The door can stay cracked open to allow the drum to dry out. The maintenance is the same as a top loader, which I had before.

I have had a front load washer for years and it's a pain! I use the special wash machine cleaner regularly, I take a towel and climb in to throughly dry the inside, pay extra attention to the door seal and make sure it's dry as a bone and always leave the door open. It's so much work I only do laundry once a week! It's pretty old and I'm hoping they have gotten better but my next one is top loader for sure.

Yes. The mold thing does happen. They sell some washer cleaner that does help. The best thing I have found is to leave the washer open overnight once in a while. I have a set li,e yours but by LG. Enjoy your laundry.

Top loading washers are the way to go! Actually we got new Samsung washer and dryer a few months ago. I decided to go with front load because the top load is too deep for me to fully reach into. I'm 5 ft 2 inch. For front load, after each wash I wipe down the front lip with a microfiber cloth and leave the door open to air out.

I agree that top loading washers are better as they seem to be more easy on my clothes. I am currently living in a place with only a front loading washer and it's spins so freaking fast some of my clothes have come out with holes all over them even on it's delicate setting (thankfully my hi friends tee survived). I can't wait until I can buy my own machine and I'll be looking for a top loader. My mom always had a top loader and it worked for decades and never damaged the clothes. Hope your new washer is a joy to use :)

Yes front loaders need to be wiped out regularly to prevent mould unless you leave the door open all the time. People buy them because they are more energy efficient and space saving.

Yes I have a whirlpool front load washer and between loads I always wipe it out with a microfiber rag and when I’m not washing I leave the door open/cracked a bit. Plus it’s on the bottom of the dryer and I’m telling you, I’m only 33, but it hurts your back reaching down for heavy, wet clothes constantly! Lol you did right by buying the top load!!

Switched from front load to top load because of all the mold problems. Even kept the door open when we weren’t using and still grew a lot of mold and our front load was always shaking really bad and sounded like an air plane. To prevent mold on top load always leave lid open after using to air dry

YES smart choice with the top loading. We had an apartment for a year that had a relatively new washer and dryer set that got mould in the doors constantly, all because it was front-loading! It was the biggest pain to clean. I will never purchase front loading machines, no matter how ~trendy they are.

You absolutely made the right decision on the top loader. My MIL and SIL both got rid of their front loading machines because of the mold and water that hung around after each wash! Such a huge allergen inducer. I want a new washing machine but my partner wants a front loader and so we will not get a new machine until he accepts a top loader because I am the one who does all the laundry. 😆

Yeah front loaders I've found get really gross and require a whole lot more maintenance than top loaders. I went through a few and my clothing never felt clean. Once a month we had to take it apart and scrub the boot. With our 2nd set if we didn't scrub it all regularly the clothes just smelled like mildew. Top loaders are the way to go. You definitely made the right choice. They need cleaning too, but you can do most of that really easily.

Hi Again Michel. My nails are soft like yours. I’ve heard it’s because of medications. I used to spend money to get my nails done, but it really didn’t help the nails, even tho they were pretty. So I went to Walmart and bought the dip kit, and some gel polish. I also have the lamp to cure them. Works just fine for me. Takes patients, and that’s ok. I do think my nails are getting a bit better, and removing the dip powder nails is so much easier than the acrylics.

Michel we are washer and dryer twins. We bought the same set in black last year through best buy as well and we were so confused why we had to buy the power cords separately lol, but I believe we got free delivery in the deal. However the cords came out to like $100 ha. We love them still though, and we don't use any of the fancy settings. We wash everything on quick wash, cold water and manually pick our rinse and spin to make sure our stuff holds up longer 😅🤣

I have a top loading washer the old fashion kind with knobs on it to change settings and I love it. I wouldn't change to a front loader even if it was gifted to me. The front loader washing machines at work were stinky and moldy.

Depending on how often you use your washer I would once a month or every other month get washing machine cleaner and run it through. I have a top loader also and use it so you don't get a musty smell.

to prevent water build up and mold in my front loader, i just leave the door and detergent drawer open overnight after i use it. maybe a bit annoying, but not a problem once you are in the habit of doing it and i haven't had a problem in 5+ years with it!
