We shouldn’t pray for materialistic things. Even though God knows what we want, he gives us what we NEED. We are God’s children and he expects us to come to him whenever we are in need as he is the only provider. The Bible does say ‘ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find etc’. This means whatever we pray; whether it is what we want, God will always give us what we need. That is why we humans are put in a waiting period. Some may call it suffering but I see it as a lesson. During the waiting period before your answered prayer, you must get to know your God, walk with his son Jesus Christ, learn to pray and fast and your reward will be more than you requested from God. In that way you don’t only see these answered prayers as materialistic things but a blessing, a miracle, a testimony and an answered prayer. You get to value what God has given to you. That is why we should pray for discernment, God’s strength and grace. If you’re going through financial difficulties, you pray that God gives you financial stability and pray for help to overcome any obstacles that may arise in your life.
