I think this speech and Bill Clinton's were the best of the democratic convention. Guys.. can you imagine marrying a girl and later running for office, and you wife being able to deliver a speech like this? Its phenomenal. Hard to believe, even. She hit a grand slam with this speech, earned my respect.

ah! I started crying! What an eloquent, honest, beautiful person. She hit home with me especially when she spoke about the two views of America and life here. Do we settle for things the way they are and not strive for better? Or can we, as Americans, unite and go that extra mile towards a better, more fair, inspiring life in our country? I've often thought we settle for less because our leaders have doubted that we CAN be more than we are. Obama 2008

The greatest thing about the Obamas is their excellent positive attitude. Something that we rarely see in the current administration. We're supposed to be afraid of everything and watching our backs. Why not make friends and create mutual bonds with others? It's all about the message, and following through with it.

There is a great video from CNN on KZbin of Barack watching Michelle giving the speech on TV. He looks genuinely moved and proud. Reading Barack's book Dreams from my Father, I get the impression that maybe he keeps his emotions to himself somethimes, but for anyone who sees that video, it is a pretty cool reminder of his humanity. Many more will warm to Obama when they have a chance to empathise with that side of his character if they are given the opportunity.

I started crying too! My mother did the same thing for me every day, even though she was in persistent pain and couldn't work. Not only was Michelle's message inspiring for this election, it motivated many of us to do our best and make a difference every day. I am consistently humbled by the Obama attitude and it's an absolute honor to support them, even as I live in another country. I've always thought 'wife' speeches were trite, but she was fantastic.

Michelle and I share the same birth year- that makes me even prouder for our age group. It is not the age, it it the level of maturity. You got it happening for your family. Congrats soon to be America's First Lady,we know you are Barack's first lady. Good luck to you. I am doing my part from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. "The world, as it is, just won't do; We have an obligation to fight for the world as it should be!" I've always felt that personally, but hadn't articulated this feeling so succinctly. With Sen. Barak Obama and Sen. Joe Biden in the White House, we will finally have the kind of leadership required to bring about the world as it should be! These are the kind of leaders we deserve ... people we can be proud of. The Obama's WILL certainly raise the bar for future prez & 1st lady.

Beautiful. Im a long-winded person when inspired, but man, I'm speechless this time!... Well, now that I think a little bit, I guess I can say what renders that comment: Michelle's graceful oratory, the Obama girls' genuine love (its adorable to see them almost competing for a chance to say hello to their father), President Obama's witty appreciation for his wife, and the Democratic National Convention's ebbing passion in this historical journey. White House or BUST!
