Hey Guys, we all know I didn't quite like the Denman Brush the first time I used it. It took a lot of time. It dried out in many sections, my hair looks dry and stringy. Basically it was a frizzy mess!
This time I made sure not to repeat the mistakes of last time. I made sure my hair was wet throughout and used lots of gel to lock my curl clumps in place while they were still wet.
So do I like the D143 Denman brush? Erm.... watch my video to find out!

Hi Parika! Just seeing this. I've used Manes by Mells technique here. It's not a bad technique. It's definitely less hassle than the other techniques I've seen. It's not tiresome, its rather quick actually. Especially if you have high porosity hair that dries very quickly. It works well IF you create tension with the brush. I will definitely try it again with a 7 row Denman. I've seen the technique you're talking about. It works very very well for type 3 curls. I tried it & got my hair stuck in the brush. I got over the trauma and started again. Styled my hair successfully but I personally didn't like the aesthetics of it. It gave me a very flat artificial ringlet look. If I find someone with type 3 curls I will definitely demo the technique on my channel. ❤️
@99simplyme
@99simplyme 3 жыл бұрын
@@MichelleManuel yes it can be hard to get hang off. It can also leave some sections looking rather flat. I am yet to perfect this technique too. But yes Mell's technique is definitely quicker and more doable.

Hi Michelle, Curly girl here who recently discovered CGM and has since then been binge watching your videos. Love your hair. Can you please suggest a brush that could help achieve bigger/thicker clumps for 3A/3B hair? Thanks! :)
@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel 3 жыл бұрын
Depends on how big you want your clumps. A bigger clump size on curly hair is a bit different than bigger clumps on wavy hair. I think the detangling brush I showed you in my recent amazon haul could work. Alternatively the Denman 7 row with some rows taken out would work out fine.

Hi! I've been enjoying your videos! I'm wondering if the 7-row Denman brush is available for you. My hair is a few inches shorter than yours, and those extra 2 rows have helped my waves a lot better than the 5-row brush. @@MichelleManuel I'm back! Ok, tried 2 washes with 3 out of 7 rows removed. I didn't have any noticeable difference in my clumps. I'm going to use my wide-tooth comb next time and see if I get thicker clumps. I did come across a new trick of lightly misting hair spray after all products are applied, even gel. It cut my drying time dramatically. I also did a hammock drying method and got some great waves!

I think wavy hair gets stringy and frizzy when styled without enough water so if your hair dries too fast while using the denman brush, it might be the reason why 🤔

Hey! We have the same hair type. Currently I had been using WOW's shampoo and conditioner, followed by DIY flax seed gel. Been thinking of using the same conditioner as leave in too like you but a bit worried. I did a lot of research and got to know that the 9 row Denman Brush is ideal for types 2B/2C. Since you'll be trying again I thought this will help. Also, I'm a UG student, can you recommend any other cheaper alternatives for Denman Brushes in India? Loving your content. ❤️

Very sweet of you to leave me this msg. :) There are 2 options for leave in conditioners in india; fix my curls and curl up. You can try them if using the wow conditioner worries you. Also keep an eye out for my new Denman videos. They'll be up soon enough. Watch my styling videos you'll see that I use a wide tooth comb to style usually. The comb won't cost more than 100rs.
