When making bow how do you know how big to make it and how many loops to make? Hope this makes sense and when you twist ribbon which way do you turn each time

I plan out my bow and wreath before I start to make them. Factors to consider when making your bow is size of wreath, are you going to add other ribbon or bows, adding embellishments etc. This will help to determine how big you can make your bow. Hope this helps.
