Recorded on March 18, 1967 at Winterland Arena in San Francisco. Only the second time that the Dead played this classic Howlin' Wolf song. The show this is from was the Dead's fourth at Winterland.

sweet tune, i'm a huge chicago blues fan, nothin' beats the Wolf, but this is an awesome version, believe this one's from "Bear's Choice?" Something like that, awesome tune

I’ve always been a blues fan too but have been getting into Grateful Dead recently and went to a concert. Love their version of this song. Good job to them for keeping this alive and playing it throughout their career

You don't know if any of these folks payed royalties to Chess for playing the song. Chess was pretty good about getting their money. Whether the money was Wolf's or Chess depends on their contract.
