Alex Orji is no way a reincarnation of Jalen Milroe look at their High School numbers. That is being incredibly disrespectful of Jalen Milroe. Now I am not saying Alex Orgi can’t improve, but so far he is only comparable to Milroe in stature, definitely not skill.

High school stats are nothing at this level. Whose to say what Orji is looking like? People need to stop saying anything until they see him in an actual game. Leave the kid alone and let him prove or not prove himself.@@matthewhuszarik4173

Let’s be realistic, Alex Orji is the quintessential modern “Dual Threat QB” that is so difficult to defend. JJ was, sort of, but I think the staff knew that JJ could not take a beating by running the ball more than on surprise occasions or scrambling. All anyone seems to do is suggest that he doesn’t have the skill to execute a passing offense, but in saying so they’re forgetting how much of a QB’s effectiveness comes from play selection and schematic philosophy. We know Michigan will run the ball, and we know that with Orji at QB he will be a big part of that. We also know that, by all accounts, OC/QB Campbell is adaptable, very focused on getting playmakers the ball, and is extremely detail oriented with his offenses and QB’s in particular. I say people are forgetting this because I think this, more so that if Orji has “made the jump” is the key to success. I find it unimaginable to think that Orji doesn’t have many pass plays that executes at a high level. Are those pass play highly sophisticated (for a college QB) concepts and routes with multiple reads and such. I would say yes and no. Yes in that I’m sure Campbell is pushing the guys to higher and higher levels, but no in that last years passing scheme was likely more sophisticated because of JJ’s ceiling. My point is that it doesn’t have to be that way to be effective and win. It’s all about what they ask the QB to do, and I’m 100% certain that Campbell and staff can fine lots of plays that work great given the skill set of Orji has. I think Michigan fans are locked into one style of QB play - we saw the same thing with Denard - and call for someone to play RB or WR because they’re not the Tom Brady, Chas Henne drop-back prototype. In case you haven’t noticed, THOSE guys are becoming the oddity, not the rule. I’m actually more excited about watching what Orji develops into that I was about JJ - because I knew JJ was going to lead Michigan to championships then get drafted high. Orji is about to open a new chapter in Michigan football history, and I predict all the unsure and slightly negative comments will be silenced here shortly. Go Blue!

I have dreams of Orji just being a beast at QB this season. If he can average five yards per carry, complete 65% of his passes, and limit turnovers the offense could be nasty. I would love to see a guy that can run like Tommie Frazier did at Nebraska many years ago while also being able to cut up a defense through the air in a two-minute drill.
@brandonmcbroom92092 ай бұрын
He just needs to remember to read the defense and take what the defense gives him first. I saw him do a 60 yard jump 360 throw and hit the crossbar after calling it.

@davidwright17282 ай бұрын
Davis Warren to me is the right choice but i also trust the coaches if Orji starts to turn on Ball over then that's a problem you must be able to pass effectively and to many runs opens him up to injury.

He seems to be a freak of an athlete with lots of arm and no accuracy. Warren looks good. Again thats just cfb 25 tho
