I've hunted turkeys a lot in MO and MI. Have to say MI birds don't gobble as much or as regularly. Southern LP Michigan toms do get big with lots to eat and mild winters. I shot a 25.3 lb. longbeard last spring. I know lots of turkey hunters don't approve of stalking toms, but given their eyesight and hearing, it's no easy task.

Just watched this video on my tv. The spot where the tom catches you while it was still roosting was covered in poison oak. Did either of you two days later not get covered with it? Especially camping where it harder to wash the oil off.

We have lots of Turkey I can put you folks on some good size flocks of birds and I know of two spots hat have about 10 in both they roost the same areas every year . Wish out local DNR would do a burn to help the numbers and just all around good for the land .
