(Once I found out) I was texting my child, and we were keeping tabs- the best we could- on what was going on. My child was far from the scene, luckily. I know how lucky that makes us. 15-20 mins away from my home, are two families who DON’T get to hug their children. I am painfully aware of that fact. My heart hurts for those families. I truly hope those in hospital pull through.

No, as we have seen in the states where they have that, these things are more common. Texas is the mass shooting capital of the world. The states with the most permissive gun laws are also the ones with the highest per capita gun homicide rates.

@@pdoylemi the majority of the deaths are due to suicide but don't let your politics get in the way of facts. Gun control only makes more victims because criminals do not follow laws. The DA and Judge that gave that maggot 1 year probation for a felony in possession of a firearm are as responsible for these deaths as is the person that pulled the trigger. Maybe follow the laws already on the books instead of creating more victims. Everyone has the natural right to self defense and those against that are only accessories to the deaths that occur.

I suspect that not having people running around campus with guns probably prevented many shootings over the years, and data from the places where everyone is running around with guns seems to back up that idea. The way to stop more bad guys is to make it damned hard for them to GET guns! Your good guy with a gun nonsense doesn't work and we have all the proof we need of that.
