Ionia State Recreation Area should be on everyone’s list. It’s a great park, with lots of variety, and it’s super convenient to access for residents in Central or West Michigan. The hiking trail quickly became one of our favorites for its variety of terrain and environments.

I live 10 miles from this park. Its very nice and is also very popular during the summer. The beach can get pretty full during a real hot day but it seems like any time I've went you can always find some space.

We didn't expect to find those trails there so it was a nice surprise. We're glad we helped you find them, too. Thanks for watching and commenting!

The 2 poles, you put a highline in between and it’s called a picket pole.

You can also hike on the equestrian trails. There is a day use area for equestrians as well.

Some of the equestrian trails in state parks are really nice, plus you have a bonus of getting to see horses. 😀 Thanks for bringing this up.

In the rustic day use area, you can also launch your kayaks from there, if somebody doesn’t have their kayaks parked there. It’s a nice shady area.

Good to hear! It surprised us with how much there was to do there. It's not that far from our sticks-and-bricks, so I'm not sure why we never went before, but we'll be going back. -Ari

Guys, you put this one on my list. I especially like the no wake lake. I like to fish and the jet skis and water skiers make it impossible on lots of lakes. Keep up the good videos.

Great to hear this - it's part of why we're doing this project. We figure if we find good places to go that we didn't know about, others will others will find places, too. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Hello from Lansing. We use this park to open our Class C for the season, usually mid-May. We have yet to walk the trail or do disc golf, but plan to do so this year. Love that it is only 45 min away.

Hello! That's a great idea on using a park closer to home when opening up a rig for the season. This park offered a lot more than we expected. We had often driven by the signs for it but never visited. We'll be back to enjoy the trails there again though. Safe travels, and thanks for watching and commenting!
