Hi Mr. Toot!! Finally, you got to Greenfield Village! I live 30 miles from there, and have had a membership for 20+ years. Absolutely 💘 LOVE the place, so thanks for showing the world what they're missing. They just re-opened July 1st, and you now have to make a reservation to attend. (6ft. + masks) I've been missing it pretty bad so thanks again for posting this...glad you enjoyed your time there. ✌😁

About 4 years ago My wife & went to GFV and enjoyed the train ride. I think we're on the Edison. I remember a very large amount of dark black sooty smoke from that engine. It looks that they bought a better grade of coal so it looks a lot better. It was a fun ride. They did coal up for us too.

Hi Jaw Tooth. A somewhat smaller steam engine than Big Boy! (British irony). I would like to see them side by side! However, there is to me something iconic about the shape of this loco with its cow catcher on the front. Whenever I think about the classic Wild West and the American Railroad this is the type of engine that comes to mind. Those little iron horses on new railroads were part of how the the towns in the US came to be. That is as much historic America to me as Afternoon Tea overlooking the village green, during a cricket match, is English. I say; keep posting the videos, there's a good chap.

There use to be an old steam passenger train like that at Six Flags Astroworld theme park in Houston, Texas that went around the whole park. The sad thing is the park went out of business & closed down back in 2005. My parents use to take me to it all the time back when I was a kid & we enjoyed riding the train too. They also had a second passenger train that went around the park too on that same & only track except the locomotive was a short wheel base diesel switcher.

In my youth, I was working for a construction company at the Henry Ford museum. The airplane with the Blue Goose arrived. Being a big strong guy with a team we hand walked the wings over one at a time. Then held them while the aircraft staff bolted them back on. This airplane now hands from the ceiling inside the museum. But wait, I also helped roll off the front wheels from the stream locomotive.

The trains here in Texas at Six Flags in Arlington are very similar. They are still steam powered but unfortunately they switched from coal to diesel/oil only as the fuel to heat the water. They were both used on sugar plantations in Louisiana. Mary Ann was built in 1901 by American Locomotive out of New York and Lydia was built in 1897 by H.K.Porter.

I know it’s not train related but check out the Ford Garage on Michigan Ave for a bite to eat. Great burgers and fries. It has some Model As or Ts parked in front. Greenfield Village + The Henry Ford + Jawtooth = great video! 👍🏼 P.S. I hope that you could understand the Michigan “accent”. 😉People from out of state say that we sound Canadian.

DTD110865 When I was stationed TDY in England in 69 and 72 I would catch the train at Ely not far from Mildenhall RAFB. They had manual gates at crossings. When a train was approaching a guy came out of his shanty and closed gates on each side of the tracks. There was no way to drive around them.

WOW!! This vid has the whole shebang! Steam trains & cabooses! Beautiful! You could have made yourself a hot cup of coffee @ 12:55 lol! I bet this has a lot of great history behind it. Loved seeing the turntable as well, Amtrak! Good to see a car that is wheelchair accessible! For future references because I use a jazzy pride powerchair & sometimes a standard wheelchair. The house was marvelous! I SAVED this to my playlist! This is special to me! Was the house built in early times as well? And was the train passing by a ford car factory earlier in the video? Thanks for sharing YAHOO!! 😍🤩👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
