Corum came into that game tied with Anthony Thomas for Michigan’s all time touchdown leader with 55 career rushing touchdowns. Then, with the game on the line, the kid jump cuts at the line of scrimmage and beast-modes his way 17 yards for the go ahead score. He got his 56th record breaking touchdown in the college football playoff, at the Rose Bowl, to beat Alabama. He had a 31 yard touchdown to seal the Penn State game, a 22 yard touchdown to seal the OSU game, and a 17 yard touchdown to seal the Bama game. His avg YPC is down this year and his shiftiness looked a bit suspect at times coming off that injury, but he showed up when it mattered most in the biggest games. Legend.

As a Longhorn fan for over 60 years, I was concerned that Penix and his arsenal of receivers would do exactly what they did to our secondary, but I did not expect Washington's offensive line to handle Sweat, Murphy and crew so well. We didn't get him on the ground once. So, congrats all the way around to Washington on the win. Superb performance. In my opinion, Sark ignored the formula for winning which was to lean heavily into the run game because as good as Washington is on offense, their real weakness is run defense. Harbaugh has already shown in the Penn State game if he has to run to win, that's what he'll do, and I think that's what he will do against Washington. Michigan also has a much better secondary than my Horns, sez me. I look for Michigan to try to control clock with the run game and I do think the Michigan defense will be able to pressure Penix, but I predict Penix and those receivers will perform. I watched the Rose Bowl game on TV. It looked like the Michigan defense was getting tired in the 2nd half. It was great, awesome to see the offense drive down the field and tie the score in regulation. The subsequent muffed punt almost gave me a heart attack. Then in OT the offense and defense rose to the occasion. The Michigan football team found another gear when they really needed it. A well-deserved victory and kudos to the Crimson Tide who played their hearts out.

As an east coaster and understanding that many on the east coast don't watch much Washinton FB, I must say when I have seen Penix play, he has blown my mind each time. I sooo wish the Carolina Panthers would have waited a year to run for a college QB, as he appears to be a catch for the next level. BTW, I believe some of the mistakes we see in bowl games are caused by the VERY long down period to even get to bowl season. I would like to see college football come up with a plan to play bowl games earlier, so they are not played so very long after the regular season ends.

They were called the Hairbreath Huskies because of there numerous close wins They won several Rose Bowls, in compete surprise to the national media., including a great win under Don James against Michigan, that had a great team that year, for the National Title. I don't think that the Huskies are at all intimidated by being the under dog, it is just a great motivation for them.
