I’m gonna admit a painful truth. NIL isn’t the only reason that some of these recruits spurn Michigan. Ask yourself, after watching this offense and defense this season. Would you want these position coaches and coordinators to be your coaches? Especially if you were a high school kid with all these aspirations would you go to Michigan? I can’t definitively say that I would. This coaching staff stinks. I have tried to remain optimistic, but when you come out of a bye and look that bad against a less talented team it’s hard to defend it.

Michigan needs another OU AD, Joe Castiglione, and a coach like Matt Campbell, and the team will dramatically change in their team playing. Face it folks: UM's offense is NOT QB friendly! It hasn't been since Braylon, Avant, and Breaston were here together. Why do you think UM QBs normally don't get drafted very highly? Only JJ and Harbaugh have gone in the first round in my lifetime. OSU has had that many in the last 5 years, same as LSU, and almost every QB under Lincoln Riley goes in the first round.

The coaching staff is definitely playing catch-up in a lot of ways. We lost two legendary QBs (Harbaugh and McCarthy) to the NFL this past off-season. It's a lot to overcome.

M. Money trumps everything. Even we have lousy team, we could still try to pitch nice stories and come up with big sum of NIL money. No young recruits would refuse great stories and big sum of money. I’m sure U of M can find a pretty good/great coach for the University of Michigan football program. It’s a blue blood program that demands excellence. As for a name, that I can’t do. But in this day of college football, any coach and or players can be had . Ward drove Jim out of town. He should be fired for that. He thought that if he can hire some of Jim’s staff and the result will be business as usual. Well he was dead wrong. That was a lazy approach on his part. He should be fired for that too. He deserves to be fired. I’m not one of those people who is afraid for a complete overhaul. Lots of big time programs do it. On thought on Davis, if you play him in 4 games and then he redshirts, but he balls out in those 4 games, all that would do is give other teams tape on him and they would come in and get him to transfer for some cash. Something to think about, it is a different college football now and why play a young kid just to put tape out there so other teams pay him to transfer?

Agreed, it's Jayden Davis' turn now. Redshirt season means nothing. If he's not competent enough to play now, then they have to bring in a transfer portal starting QB after the season. All that leads to is Davis losing his opportunity. Because they will also look to bring in Underwood or other recruit. Davis will get buried in the depth chart. The time is now.

@jamesyoder that was a hell of a rant. I completely understand your frustration as I have the same as a life long fan. I personally called for JD after Fresno state game. But at worst I thought JT would be manageable because of experience. I had no thoughts of a repeat due to the losses we had as a program. I did expect better though from a team still deep in talent. This is square on the coaching staff. Sharon needs to take over play calling and demote Campbell to QB coach again for the rest of the season. Then find an experienced OC and also find a replacement for Wink. The coaches need to be upgraded for the level of talent we have and will still have after this year.

It's sad to know we can only get 3 star WRs at best. No elite receiver in their right mind would commit to Michigan. We could run a smash mouth system with Harbaugh because he has perfected that type of football for 20 years but Moore is in over his head. As bad as our QBs are i think Sherone and Kirk are far worse. No solid gameplan, no player development, no in game adjustments, the WR route trees look like elementary lvl, and everytime they show Sherone on the sidline, he looks scared and lost. But at least Sherone has more boogers picked on TV than Michigan has TDs.
