She does what she does, it's her "way" Hypothetical argument is invalid, pointless and disrespectful and I am sure she would hold out well against some punk, and would have a very good chance to defend herself and any loved ones.

@DoctorShaft Her karate is intended for killing, hard and fast. A boxer wouldn't have a chance.

Sure, but That woman has been training since she was a baby, she is fast as bullet, besides the fact that she is a complete fighter, a fight is fight whoever get the first good blow might win, but odds are she is probably going to wreck another female who is used to fight with rules.

CONT: for random street encounters, but wasn't talking about that. I was speaking about M.Onaga vs a boxer. Using their systems, in unarmed combat in a ring setting - I apologize for not being specific in my original statement, & what I meant is that I would bet that against any professional boxer she would lose. Occasionally apples & oranges meet. :)

The female boxer would be crushed in seconds, that woman train with no rules, no gloves, no protection, she knows how kick, chop, punch, knee and elbow the f**** out besides she train troat, pressure point atackts and bone breaking holds..

Notice how I gave my opinion, while you stated an unsupported claim. Just because one combatant knows how to "chop, knee, elbow ect." does not guarantee victory over one that primary uses their fist for striking. How can I say that? I've witnessed it several times and so have many others.

With all admiration and respect for Onaga, she would not crush any "professional level" competitor in their own field. You are what you train for. Yes, there is cross-over in skill sets, but the human body is only good at what it's conditioned for. "Ti", as defined by Onaga sensei himself, is based around a philosophy of "not losing". They do not practice for specific, ring-based, consensual duels. Likewise, I'd not trust the boxer to teach me effective self-defense against stronger targets.

she already has a physical potential ready as foundation. now take her to muay thai or mma gym for 3 months and see how she fights. I completely agree with what u said of course. What she lacks now is the state of mind for certain thing she has not experienced with such as fighting on the street or ring rule. Trust me, if she spars with me in muay thai and my friend in bjj everyday for 3 months, I can confidently tell u she is more than ready for her weight class in mma.

@Dreadnaught89 I don't think she would stand a chance against a high caliber professional female boxer. Granted, I do understand that it comes down to the practitioner & not the style for the most part. I'm just saying I would bet on the Boxer(Ring or street) who focus on more practical techniques. I agree with the ladder statement but we're talking about Boxing vs Karate-do so that's irrelevant.

@Uberboy07 How many people would stand a chance against someone that spends countless hours of their life preparing for a boxing contest? You're talking about apples and oranges here. Sure, Onaga in a one-on-one duel against a professional caliber fighter would be outclassed. But the boxer does not spend time getting ready for emotionally charged, random encounters. Which doesn't mean they can't win them either... but it's apples and oranges. Old-style karate wasn't intended for a duel.
