Michiru Oshima's Godzilla Theme

To me, Oshima is the defining composer for the Millennium series. Otani's score for GMK is excellent too, but to me Oshima is the only composer who was able to compose a theme for Godzilla nearly as iconic as Ifukube's incomparable Godzilla theme.

The King of the Monsters Yeah, the GMK Soundtrack was On Point, but is only applicable to that Godzilla. This, this theme makes Godzilla a threat, and makes you feel anxious, urgency to win, and then terror as your hopes and dreams are dashed by his power, as you bow down to the true king and meet your end at his deadly light.

The design of the Godzillas from Tokyo S.O.S. and Final Wars are among my favorites. I've grown to like the enlarged dorsal spikes, and I really like the face shape (which i think wasn't very well formed for the '2000' and 'Megaguirus' Godzillas; they remind me of fish more than a giant dinosaur) as well as the very prominent neck spikes.

I love Akira Ifukube's theme. I do. You can't beat a classic. But this...it says something about the power of Goji, like an unstoppable force coming to absolutely wreck your shit. The 2014 title theme also fits him, building up the might that is the King of the Monsters. Someone needs to mix all three together. The ultimate Gojira march. Long live the King of the Monsters.

A way I would've done to have the millennium era be a connected story would be having 2000, vs Megaguirus and the Kiryu saga in one single timeline (i omitted gmk and final wars for reasons, but I do have an alternate timeline which includes them). I basically would've never changed his 2000 design (just let him be the vs megaguirus design, but with the colors of miregoji, as giragoji is slightly a lighter green, while Mire is dark green and looks good at night), kept it the same. Now with the story line, well basically, the story arc would mostly focus on the technology advances since 1999 ever since Orga was destroyed, as they used the tech from his ship to create many weapons that would be used against Godzilla throughout the saga, such as the black hole mostly being created from normal technology and millennian (apparently orga's species) technology, or Kiryu, which was the merging of Millennian and Maser technology (in this version his battery is always full and there is no limits to what he can do). A small change in vs Megaguirus would be the Godzilla himself, in the film its basically 54 godzilla if he would've survived, here its changed for it to be the same godzilla from last film and so on with the others. Godzilla actually defeats Kiryu and doesn't have a villanous role, instead, in this version, Kiryu wins in the first film of the kiryu saga as he should, only that, with this godzilla being more resistent and such, the scarred one would basically be kiryu, as he is destroyed (more like his systems are, his armor is barely scratched), then in Tokyo SoS, Mothra actually wants to help Godzilla defeat the reconstructed kiryu, as G54 bones not being in peace and sleep as they should are turning even more unstable up to the point where, unknown to the humans, its actually regenerating. Godzilla and Mothra fight because Godzilla is just plain territorial. Once in the final battle, Kiryu murders Mothra, now in full berserk mode, and once this is accomplished, somehow, he starts tearing his armor off, revealing, GMK Goji (why him? it fits a little the description of an evil godzilla tbh). Godzilla and Evil Godzilla duke it out, the larvae appear to help but are killed instantly as well. Godzilla is victorious, and the series ends, with the humans learning the lesson of never messing with alien tech ever again.

Akira Ifukube's theme is probably the most iconic, but I feel oshima's was the most fitting for Godzilla, such power, intensity, and urgency from her theme that reflects so much of Godzilla. Her score for Godzilla x Mechagodzilla was in my opinion the finest of the series

The Millennium series is my all-time favorite Godzilla group. I love all of the movies in it to pieces (with the exception of Godzilla VS Megaguiras; I simply cannot get over the lack of common knowledge about black holes in it, but it's still okay past that), and 3 of my top 5 Godzilla movies are there. It's a shame that it didn't last longer than 6 movies (if I'm not mistaken), but I think them all (minus the one I've already spoken of) to all be absolute bangers. This theme is also great, although it isn't my favorite (that'll always be the main Heisei theme), and it really builds on how dangerous and deadly this Godzilla truly is; in 1954 it was a being bent on vengeance and destruction, but since then until G2000 it was a force of good (and a silly one at that) or a spirit of nature, although still very dangerous. Once it came to the Millennium, however, he became super dangerous; in G2000 he attacked and destroyed Japan even after defeating Orga and the spaceship thing; in Godzilla VS Megaguiras the threat of Godzilla's constant destruction of Japan was so great they made black holes (that forget how black holes are supposed to work); Kiryu was made in the Mechagodzilla duo of movies to attack Godzilla, but the destructive essence of Godzilla in it made it unable to defeat the G-Man; in GMK he is [allegedly] the '54 Godzilal resurrected by the spirits of dead soldiers hell-bent on the destruction of modern Japan.

Minimum Headroom I think the reason people(also me) prefer ifukube is because his music is more iconic, the same theme that has played for at least 6 decades. Michiru's music has only been used in three movies, kinda wished they used more of her music. Favourite godzilla themes: This one, because it sounds BIG and powerful. It sounds like Godzilla is a one-man army here, and it reminds me of Bowser's theme from mario 64 which I love. GMK theme, because it sounds so primal and scary, like an unstoppable threat. 1998 Godzilla theme, especially in the taxi chase, because It sounds triumphant but in the "wrong" way, as if it's celebrating Godzilla and urging him to win and catch the taxi.
