Hello again! So what's new here? Other than the custom arrangement, there are a few unique added-in transitions. I also took it upon myself to try and clean up the track as much as I could with some EQ work, scooping out and controlling low mid mud, sub clash, and splashing up some high end in the stereo field. The biggest difference though, and I imagine will the most notable, are the changes made to the drums. I inserted my own drum samples and SUPER BOOSTED the transients, then layered them ever so subtly over the original drums so they're louder, punchy, and are no longer drowned in the mix! Been listening to the soundtrack since the game came out, this is one of the best mixes I've heard someone put together.

When I write songs, and thus mix stems, I try to create a listening experience. With DOOM specifically I like to akin the listening experience to the playing experience, opening with the levels ambient track then boom into the light combat, followed by heavy combat music as you further through the level, ect.

I think our different approaches to the same track are interesting, outside of me cleaning up with an EQ and the drum transients I mean. Just the arrangement. When I made my mix I set out to try and communicate the experience of the level, starting with the droning ambient into the first bit of electronic, then into the metal and transition out between the two. Interesting to see he added Doom Hunted to his CB mix.

the only thing i disagree with is that the constant drum transients like at 3:50 get rid of that extremely punchy in-and-out feel that mick's transients had, they were more accentuated on key beats as opposed to these which are constantly accentuated EDIT: i find now that those accents of his were just the snare... point still stands though epic otherwise, much crisper
