Thanks for this. There is a 8 CD set of the Australian 88 tour floating around. I saw it on Ebay. This sounds like a compilation of that material. Mick gets introduced twice and the sound changes drastically at that point

Funny to see all the critics and experts spewing and gushing their little fanboy opinions out, as if it means anything. New , old, Stones, Solo, yada yada yada. Yapping Chihuahuas!! WHO CARES? It all boils down to Mick, living his life as Mick Jagger every day, and that is what matters. Good for you Mick! Let your freak flag fly!

Und weil Keith damals erbost darüber war das Mick auf seiner eigenen solotour Stonessongs spielte nannte er Mick´s band "Stones-Clones".

Thanks for the upload. Now I can completely understand Keith's fury at Jagger in mid 80's. Mick must have been crazy to think he could get away with playing only Stones classics with a classy but ersatz band. Just one of his solo songs! WHAT WAS HE THINKING ????!! (ps I like a lot of Mick's later solo stuff eg Dancing in the Starlight) >>>>>

+peter mills This is only an edited version of a Mick Jagger downunder concert. Not the whole thing. There are TWO Jagger solo songs on this unofficial cd, by the way. The other solo songs Mick played on his downunder tour were: War Baby, Party Doll, Throwaway, Radio Control and sometimes Lucky in Love or Say you will. And I too understand Keith's anger... but for us fans in Australia, Seeing Mick seemed like the closest thing we would ever get to seeing the Stones again, as the turmoil the band were in around this time didn't bode well for any future Stones album and tour.

+roydagger . Good to hear from you. I would have gone too, just to see Jagger perform! That messy situation would have been fatal for most bands, but the Stones have never been 'most bands' have they?! I do hope they can get productive again in the studio one more time. Not that they have anything to proove. Here's hoping! ( ps I'm glad he did 'Party Doll', love that one.)

Hard to believe this was a year after Surfing With The Alien! Satriani really keeps his ego to a minimum, playing only what serves his song. Would've liked to hear a bit more of his personality shine through, but I guess he wasn't that established as a guitar god then.

once again Mick kills it great show wish one as there. only thing their missing is Keith! Joe is too progressive for me. but is tight. gets a 8. be a 10 with Keef! great effort though.

Primitive Cool is Jagger's best--by far the best--solo album. And at the time, better than anything the Stones as a band together were doing. I actually think Mick Jagger should have gone on to a solo career -- as, for example, Robert Plant did. Jagger ended up being stuck in a band that has remained essentially what is a tribute band to what the Stones were in the 60s & 70s. Every time Stones go on tour they pretty much have to play the same batch of songs--they make oodles of money, but it meant they could not really explore new stuff. Plant went on to do all sorts of interesting things musically. Jagger and Richards have been stuck in a rut for 40 years.

Wandering Sprit is far better then any of the other solo stuff, he tried to do the solo thing no one bought into it

Well the Rolling Stones have been in a deep rut since 1978. They've opted to become a not very good tribute band to what they were in the 60s--trying to liven things up occasionally by bringing Taylor Swift onto the stage. I've always thought Robert Plant made the right decision and continued--and continues--to evolve musically. Every album he's done has something new. I saw Stones perform in Japan in mid 90s--one of their endless world tours--and Jagger was obviously pretty exhausted by the whole thing, making snide comments about having to sing Satisfaction for 3,000th time. Always thought Jagger had a bit more to give--I think he probably realizes it too. In an interview a couple of years ago, he said something about how he would have preferred to be a teacher or journalist.

+Atomic Lobotomy Jagger says nonsense a lot, I was at a lot of the Vegas (not Voodoo) lounge act tours, Steel Wheels was great but everything after was the same old, they would inject classics they never touched for each tour but the Stones lost me after the No Security tour when they were charging $350 for the same stadium seat they charged $55 three years earlier, I did see the last 50 grr it whatever that arena tour of North America was, as for Sir Mick he recognizes he needs to transcend to be realeivent today but I am guessing realizes the Stones are realeivent and why both try when they can demand $600+ for a ticket, I prefer Wandering Sprit because he said Wired All Night was a current Stones type song then did his own thing and experimented with gospel, funk, country and basically made a Mick Jagger CD instead of trying to copy the current trend like he did on She's The Boss, I don't remember Primitively Cool much which to some meant it was a commercial flop but it produced a few good songs and a tour

+northernsurferboy I meant to say Mick Jagger realizes the current Stones trying to make top 40 pop music are irrelevant so why bother try when they can charge $600 a ticket to their current base and play Satisfaction, Mick's last solo Goddess in the doorway is as Keith describes it Dog shit in the doorway, it was horrible, Too Far Gone was okay

Well, that seems to be Stones' attitude towards whole thing now -- same as that of hedge fund manager or corporate CEO. They don't seem to be interested in music from any creative point of view. Jagger just acts silly when he's performing now--the leer he has pasted on his face and the manic prancing about. It's not really rock and roll anymore, and don't understand why anyone would pay anything to see this charade.
