I'm 43, first heard Frisco Mabel Joy on Kenny Rogers The Gambler LP. Sad I barely missed the era when he was active online. Maybe could have met him. Between Mickey and Clarence White, that's my musical DNA. And Uncle Al who played the fiddle.

There is a double gatefold album (vinyl) one disc is 'Live at Montezuma' Hall ...the other disc is 'Looks like Rain'. This was sent to me here in England by my son in N.C. a couple of years back. Released on Elektra ( Part of Warner Communications) . Some years back i obtained a muti CD Box Set from the Mickey Newbury website (10 albums on 8 CD's ) . Love the hiss and crackle too . Hope that helps Phil. 🤔

Micky was really special. I love the song Long Road Home. 10 minutes could be 10 hours and I would listen to the end. I was lucky enough to have a long conversation with him on the phone from my Adobe in Terlingua Ghost Town. Mickey told me he used to come down here to fish with his Dad. Sweet Memories.
