The first short "Stuck on Christmas" is based on a short story named "Christmas Every day" by William Dean Howells.

I just googled it and it says it was published in 1892. So it does predate Ground Hog Day.

@@swattdeeds Apparently the story "12:01" from 1973 may have been the first instance of the Groundhog Day time loop. So Christmas was basically the "Groundhog Day" trope before Groundhog Day was?! Mind blown

@@yagazuzi Insert mind blown gif! 🤯😱 but I was right! Ground Hog day stole Ground hog day trope.🤣

Mickey's story is based in a story too Gift of the Magi Which is about a couple sacrificing their valuble posessions to get a gift to each other.

Oh wow, I should definitely give that a read. What about Goofy's story? Was that based on anything?

Lol ...That's a more character-appropriate line for Pete than what he said in the movie "BUT WHAT ABOUT MY SQUIRTY GUN AND MY YO-YO?!"

Quick Google search showed there were films that did that before Groundhog Day ( which I have not seen). The day starts repeating scenario feels like it would've been a part of a lot of science fiction books. So there could be alot.

Do any particular movie names come to mind?
@saro3212 Жыл бұрын
@swattdeeds There's a short movie called "12:01 PM," which was nominated for an Oscar. Also, sci-fi TV shows like Star Trek, twilight zone have some episodes with the same concept.

The ugly cgi. Also the stories sucked

@@chloenieuwsma4846 Yeah I get that now but as a kid, I didn't really care cause weird-looking animated films were a thing in the 2000s. You are right about the stories but I did like the DUCKS's story out of all of them but yeah the others were meh compared to the first film.
