"Mickey saved my life": The touching story behind one man's collection of 10,000 Mickey Mouse items

Paul Bottos of Hamilton, Canada has a collection of around 10,000 Mickey Mouse items.
But collecting Mickey isn't just for show. Bottos says he finds focus in Mickey and that the Disney character helped him turn his life around as a troubled youth. "Mickey saved my life," said Bottos. "I know he saved my life."

I have a disney collection as well... some of my favorites are Mickey Mouse glasses and wine glasses from friends in Japan. I too have been in legal trouble and was homeless on and off for years. Collecting things kind of gives me something to focus on, keeps me out of trouble.

OMG. I love this. Winnipeg gal here and I feel the same way. Love all things Disney and at 48 I am not stopping anytime soon. My 21 yr old son collects with me as well and we go to Disney one to two times per year. Great story and keep collecting!!!

Mickey's presence is strong i Feel the same . I have a little collection of him the most significative item is a mickey Teddy which My dad gift me When i was born . So that Teddy is 21 years with me 🤩🥰🥰

I am a collector of Disney stuff but it is mostly Bambi related as I have 600 Bambi items making up my collection basically all the main Bambi characters Bambi ,Faline ,thumper ,flower ,Bambi's mother ,the great prince and friend owl and miss bunny
