I had a dental implant done in April in Fethiye city centre. I travelled alone and fell in love with the place and can’t wait to go again in October to have the treatment completed. My boyfriend is coming with me and we’re going to be staying in Kayakoy village. Thank you for the videos! I’ve enjoyed watching them all!

I have only recently discovered your videos of the Fethiye area - and especially this one of Kayakoy. I have really enjoyed re-visiting this amazing area that I explored about 10 years ago with English friends who had a house in Sporkent. I'm working my way through all your videos while I'm in quarantine. I'm from Melbourne, Australia.

@@mickandtrudie So from your experiences, what are some of areas in Turkey that are somewhat conservative rather being a party town? Last year I visited Istanbul, Cappadocia, Konya, Izmir, and noticed that there is quite a diversity depending of where you at? Someone I know in United States who may be interested in moving to Turkey but they wanted to avoid party town type cities.

Hi Mick. Firstly can I say great videos ! Very pro work all round. I have been to Turkey now 8 times and 6 of those to this area. I plan on coming again (poss staying this time in Calis) end of October. I visited Kaya village back in 1995 and 1998 when the main church at the top was still open. Funny enough you have the same motorcycle as I had back in the day (Yamaha DT175?) Think that's what it is but may be wrong. Anyway...…..very much appreciate your information on all of your videos and keep them coming ! :) Regards Mark.

Nice quality! But i must say that there are wrong parts you told about the relations between Turks and Greeks. The Turkish and Greek group in Kayakoy was getting along well. While building and all daily repairing jobs were done by greeks, turks were doing agriculture and military. When Greeks left there, Turks had hard times in their absence.

Mick Scarsbrook my grandparents spoke Turkish fluently but they were 100 pct Greek and highly educated and spoke Athenian Modern Greek...my dad spoke a little Turkish ...now no one does. I have not been to Livissi and to tell you the truth I would feel too nostalgic. I’ve been to Constantinople many times ...live partly in Athens now and Los Angeles. I have many many stories I’ve heard from the grandparents about life in Turkey, Kemal, the pogroms... of Istanbul, they moved to Greece from the 1930s to 1950s...I have pictures of them with their Armenian and Turkish friends...lots of history.
