I’ve seen it in Mackay here and in Cairns but other than that it is a pretty specialized product so it may be a special order from your local sunline dealer.. it’s worth a crack though, I really rate it hey, and I hated fluro before this come out because I prefer stretch when chasing bigger fish…

that's pretty cool catching the same fish twice - interesting that getting duped by the first lure didn't put it off feeding. Great glimpse into your sounder work, too Mick - quick question, am i right that the black strips on side-vu are essentially the 'shadow' of the boat, and you're not looking at any marks in that black area - only stuff out to the side (amber bits)? That's the one thing that confuses me about Garmin side-vu. I'm pretty sure I saw a vid where the guy was pointing to dots etc in the black area saying they were fish.
@Micksgonefishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, nah it’s not the shadow but the water under the boat, depending on the depth it can change but yeah the line down the middle is the boats position, the black is the cone that reads down and the Amber is out to the side..

when i was pro fishing for jew they will move if you drop one only a few meters but most people dont know they do that but even in a couple meters of water thry dont go back well most of the time you will see them float back up
@Micksgonefishing2 жыл бұрын
They go back fine in the shallows but you do need to spend time with them in the water getting their energy levels back up. I spent a solid 20mins with that big one at the end. They just use all their energy trying to evade being caught!

Up the Jews mick! They are such dirty fighters compared to mulloway! You did well staying calm n getting the big dog into the boat. I've found when you're solo like that sometimes it's easier getting the lip grips onto em when they're floating as the net spooks em... Smashed my PB though, my biggest was 117 & 14kg
@Felixsreptiles2 жыл бұрын
yeah tell me about it fishing solo and catching jewwies is insane especially when in creeks, my biggest jewwie is 134cm in a creek trolling for barra.

If you are to release a fish to live on, keep your fingers / hands out of its gills,.

Hands didn’t touch its gill mate, just the gill plate, the actual gills on these would mince your hands if you put them in there.

You obviously havent caught a jewie mate , if you put your hand deep into their gill rakes you will shred your hands. You only handle the gill plate and no ill effects on the fish.

Great vid as always Mick , great to get the first vibe back . A similar thing happened to me on jewie , beach fishing for them of a beach in South Australia using a Paternoster rig with star sinker and two 9/0 snelled hooks and whole squid for bait. Had one bust me of on a reef , re rigged and put another bait out and got another hook up . Landed the fish and it was the same one , still had my old rig and sinker dragging behind it. Goes to show when they are feeding aggressively it doesnt stop them from focusing on food.
