Looking forward to see Paige beat Caitlin’s scoring record this year. She’s up to 2,063! She’s sure to beat Clark’s 3,951 points before the end of the season. That’s only 1,895 points in the next couple months. Easy for her. Juju? She’s at 1,411 after just 2 seasons! Only 2,540 to go to break the record! She might want to pick up the pace a bit. Assume she plays 60 more games before she graduates, she only has to score 42.3 points per game to tie the record. Not as easy as it sounds, she’s current at 27.1 and 24.6 points per game average. The only time had averages that low is her freshman year. People need to be careful when predicting the next big player.

@@ericMTAre you being sarcastic? Paige isn’t going to come close to breaking Clark’s record. The most points she has scored in a season was last year at 854. If she makes it all the way to the National Championship game, UConn would have 17 games left this season. She would have to average over 111 points per game to break Clark’s record. 😂 I could definitely see Juju breaking it but you’re delusional if you think Paige is getting anywhere close to that record.

Watkins scored 2 points in the first half against an unranked Minnesota Golden Gophers team AT HOME to a half empty arena and ended up going 7-24 FG and 1-8 3PT. She is not “hooping”. She did get 11 rebounds and a double-double though. So props to her for that. Is USC good? Only one other starter had over 9 points in the entire game: Kiki Iriafen. One bench player Howell had 12. This is against an unranked team. How are they ever beating the good teams? I’m sorry but whatever commentators said Juju is basically the female Michael Jordan is insane. There are so many great college players and they praise Watkins because she can put up big numbers against cupcake teams. Wow.

Stop it....just stop it. Your craven quest for the next female Jordan is off the rails. One game is not a predictor, nor is a season. Being a good player is not close to being great, and the true number of great players is limited and takes time to identify thru longevity. Now, to reach all time best is another leap of consistency that most greats can't match. Even Clark is a long way from that. Her trajectory is there but her career, frankly, is still in its early stages. Right now all others are just names falling out of your mouth and most of them will be just another name in a phone book when their careers are over

16/24 is total shots including 3s, so it's actually 11 2pt (22) + 5 3pt (15) + 16 free throws. Yeah... 16/18 at the line according to the box score.

You have to back out the 5 for 9 3-pointers from the 16 for 24 total shots. That gives you 11 for 15 for 2-point field goals ,which is 22 points, plus the 15 points from 3-pointers--a TOTAL of 37 points. The remaining 16 points were from Free Throws (she was 16 for 18) which are not accounted for in these stats.
