I'm seriously impressed with how well thought out this conversion is. I started watching the video and my initial reaction was "WTF?" but the more I watched it the more I respected the guy for his talents in doing such an amazing job with such a small space. Running water and a sink, cooking space, a table and bed suitable for someone six foot... in a car! Amazing work dude. Congratulations and I hope you enjoy your creation for years to come!

Pretty cool! Rusty on KZbin who’s a retiree used to live like that in a Prius for a long time! So it can definitely be done! Then Rusty changed up to a much larger RV until he is finally now up then back downsized a bit to a travel trailer with his own property. Eventually having a home base though seems to be the most successful to me in order to travel around in a RV etc. No doubt this nice guy will eventually have a home base as well.

have to admit you did a very good job building this set up, and using every available space making it useful. bed idea is very smart idea , only thing i see that might need improvement is the window black out screens (magnetic) , need to be larger when they were up i could see light from the outside showing in , if light can be see from outside, the lights and or you can be seen when you are in it . otherwise , great build and video !!!

I love my 2007 Versa, bought it brand new in September 2006, used it for camping and few times driving to Florida, still runs strong. Very versatile vehicle and dependable little vehicle

Seriously one of the most impressive and efficient small builds I’ve ever seen! I’ve car camped out of my ‘97 VW Passat. Camping in a smaller vehicle really isn’t that bad at all if you can do it right

I tricked my 2011 Versa out last year. Took out the back seat & I'm a short enough female (5'2"), didn't need to remove the passenger seat, but it would work for extra length if needed. Only had to remove a few inches from my Ikea foam twin mattress but there's still room beside it for more stuff. I could probably elevate the mattress to add storage bins underneath since the Versa has more head room than most compact hatchbacks, but for now, I'm loving my little camper car!

Santa Barbara is expensive, very hard to find street parking that allows campers though. I assume you park at the beach across from sbcc, they allow campers. Also home improvement allows overnight parking

Well you are right, but this is not long term living. This is short term living. If I had to drive up somewhere for the wkend or for work, or get away to the beach for an overnight trip, this would be fantastic! Think of the dorm fees you save as a student as well. Or if you move to a new city looking for work - you don't want to pay rent when you have no job.

The only thing that concerns me with this conversion is the added weight from all the heavy wood and water. Especially on the driver’s side. In a small vehicle, every bit of weight is noticeable in handling especially if it isn’t balanced…Is it maxed out and does the passenger side bed weigh so much that is counter weights the water and kitchen on driver’s side? I ❤️ love ❤️ ❤️ the bed/table conversion. Sheer genius!!🤓😎

I'm in a Honda Odyssey and weight is a issue even after removing 2nd & 3rd row and rear AC & heat stuff & rear blower & plastic trim pieces weight still took a toll on my transmission which is currently failing & suspension also has prematurely worn out,it also handles like a school bus

If I were to follow the model of this conversion I’d probably put both water tanks near the trunk for easy access, that way they can both be on the same side of the car without changing handling BECAUSE I would then put the fuse box and battery on the other side of the trunk. Everything could be put super low down so storage could go on top.

Bloody hell he's done amazing in that! Different, very clever and inventive! It's like a tiny double decker! That half a foot raise for bed space really makes a difference. I love what he's done!
