Little tip. When you lock the doors pull the seatbelt through the handle and then click it on will hold the door closed.

I am in Kent and it was the worst storm to hit us. My brother's house is opposite and a large tree that was in our family home for over 50 years came down... and landed on a shed, which is Listed. The tree smashed it completely and the loss adjuster immediately said the shed will be covered. There used to be a 'cat lady' living in there but she left it 3 years ago, which was so lucky, no one was killed.

I live near chasewater (aldridge) i been there late at night often for walks. Those traffic lights or barriers never been in operation or been manned and always accessible. Been a good safe spot ovetnight plus a nice cafe there

I was watching one of you other videos, (I think it was the Pizza Hut camping one), you asked about recipes for one pot cooking. There is a gentleman on you tube called "One Pot Chef". I have made several of his recipes, and the one I enjoy the most is Cheesy Beef Taco Pasta. Seeing you enjoy a bit spicy, I add Rotel medium tomatoes, Jalapino's and add pepperjack cheese. One a cold night, this is the bomb!! Thought I'd share that with ya. Happy Camping.

@@BrendanExplores we definitely don't use ours enough - just toast and halloumi! I think ours is a fake ridgemonkey too so the nonstick coating is a bit crap these days. Might be time for an upgrade!

Hey Kathy, yes it's a brilliant piece of kit! 👍 Makes things so much easier now. The storms were quite bad, on the night it got very windy but thankfully the worst wasn't until the weekend when I was at home. There were quite severe floods in Shrewsbury unfortunately but we are recovering now. Have a good week 🙂

Great trip👌 I car camp in a Vaxhaul Zafira🙂 A tip for the chicken is to get yourself a pair of tongs and large scissors. Hold the raw chicken with the tongs and cut it with the scissors. Save having chicken juice all over your hands (unless you drop it of course lol!) Saves dealing with the gross chopping board too! I then use anti bacterial wipes to wipe over the scissors and tongs ready to be washed up. I'm tempted by the ridge monkey, your fajitas looked very tasty!

There are some technical solutions......to make it easier like have some Lithium batteries with Inverter and a very small generator....they can't be use as power source for electric blankets and low power heater even cooking with induction stove much more efficient ! Long range truckers are a good source of inspiration !

@@BrendanExplores i got a Mercedes Unimog i use it for camping it not the industrial version but the friendly family version and i have dealing with same problems like you and i squeeze my brain for a hack a unic solution ,and the Russians give me some inspiration ! There is a KZbin channel with a girl in Yakutia the coldest place on earth and how locals survive insane 😶 cold 🥶 ,so i use 4 very large Lithium batteries a compact inverter and controller plug a Honda very silent dual fuel generator and deployeble solar panels if i don't want to use fuel ⛽ and all this wen i go fishing 🎣 or hunting ! And a Mercedes Unimog it slow have no much speed but it design for heavy duty to be hammer hard and it have hydraulics for accessories ,blades , snowblowers , brushes and the list it long offer countless possibilities ! ✌️

regarding the car alarm and internal sensors.... i have a renault scenic 2012 5 seater (not the grand like yours). I found out that if you enter the key card twice and then lock the doors it disables the internal motion sensors... what's your solution?

Yes that also works for me as well but I've also found that locking the car from the inside on the dash works also 🙂

I had attended York van life fest and somy did not bother to lock the doors but ended up with a flat battery, the RAC told me that when leaving the doors unlocked the battery is still working in the background (doing what I don’t know), hence flat battery - bit odd but odd but there you go.

Perhaps a long ride for you Brendan,down where I live on the gower coast,there is a place called Rhossilli. You have a beautiful coastline reaching out to the worm,(worms head).it gets cut off by the tide and really lovely.A lovely walk around to fall bay,bit of aerial footage ,possibly bed down in Rhossilli car park,fantastic. Hey, no problem 👍 I brought these: amzn.to/3tA2pW6 and then I was able to crack my windows an inch or two without rain getting in 🙂. Brilliant piece of kit! Hope that helps and you find the ones to fit your car.
