Gotta give a mention of the bunker placement: absolutely *chef's kiss*! Tucked right between the gas and the gateway so that it threatens minerals & gas probes, the gateway, the nexus, AND it can't be surrounded by probes due to those buildings being in the way!

Honestly i still think he makes terrible strategic decisions if the game extends for long enough. Thats mostly against Zerg, but IMO hes still very much the type thats "i could win the game in five minutes or i could micro a shuttle and toss a coin to win now". And he always micros the shuttle. Create those situations enough and eventually he throws (mostly against Zerg but maybe Terran).

Light vs Rain mentioned, but no shoutout for Light vs Tempest? That was the OG Light vs Rain. This dude made ten cents getting a nickel for every time he lost a bunker rush to a single range goon on national TV. OK, so I checked, and the Light vs Rain game was KSL Season 2 Ro16 Group A Match 2 Set 3 played on November 8, 2018 on Fighting Spirit. An English cast by Tasteless and Artosis is still available but I won't link it here (check liquipedia). The Light vs Tempest game was the MBCGame Season 3 Survivor Tournament Group 12, Set 1 played on January 1, 2009 on Byzantium II. An English cast by Cholera and Rise is still available on the VioleTAK channel. By the way, the resemblance is even more uncanny than it sounds. In both games, Light destroyed a pylon unpowering the Cybernetics Core just before Singularity Charge finished researching. And in both cases, the protoss was able to rebuild the pylon and keep it up for long enough for that upgrade to finish and to win the game. And in both games, the casters were confused about what just happened.

artosis would you consider a small series explaining super basic strategy/tactics concepts for spectators? i havent played this game since probably the early 2000s. or really, i would watch my brother or cousin play. i have no intention of playing again. but i'm drawn to these videos - i can't stop watching. it's a combo of nostalgia and enjoying the strategy of the game. i'm picking up some things here and there but i would eat those videos up too. maybe some channels already do that type of thing - who knows! anyway thanks for the vids

it's the same. Once the SCV received mining command, he'd go to the mineral patch. If his hand is full like in the situation, he'll return to the nearest CC, which was only 1 CC in this game, thus transcended the block of Dragoon. Pretty wild moves from both sides

I like that kind of game. Super tense and to the wire. I also think that randomization between greedy builds, standard play and cheese should be implemented by all good players. And from there you can optimize depending on your opponent tendencies. There is stuff to learn from poker in build selection imo.

Theres one thing that has always puzzled me as a noob (forgive me if I cant articulate this properly). Doesn't it feel like map makers try to hinder T by making it difficult to set up cheap siege lines, meanwhile they do things that help Z like add the neutral sunken for creep to cling onto etc? Isn't terran considered the weakest race RN? shouldn't map makers design maps to give them the edge?

Yep sure seems that way. Also they put cliffs near the natural and third so that mutas and shuttles/reavers can easily pick off scvs esp bc there's no room for turrets. The fact that Terran pretty much HAS to use floating buildings for a variety of functions is pretty ridiculous. Terran tank drops used to be very strong so they completely neutered them by eliminating high ground near expansions. Basically anything that's good for Terran gets removed from the game 😂😂😂

go way back to when this map came out n u started casting it i said it was bad map design! the 3,6,9,12 need to be assimilator walled with paths to main like nemesis. also full mineral/gas counts wud help a lot on those bases. its just impossible to get a 4th. stupid map!
