Micro Mages (NES) - Hell Mode (no deaths)

Super fun game, I love the double jumping you can do with the charged downward shot! It's also a ton of fun if you can wrangle friends for 4 players. Such a great demonstration of what the NES can do.

It's so well executed. The multiplayer's also a lot of fun. It's really impressive how well executed it is for an indie game, honestly it's among the best NES platformers ever made I think.

@@BareKnuckleRoo Sounds dope. What I love about this one are the rich colours like the purple blocks that look they were made from solidified purple crush and the nice blue blocks that have this icy coolness to them. The music is wicked as well if ai didn’t already mention that!

@@Shmuptopia What's cool is the different modes in the game use different palettes too! I got the chance to play this multiplayer before, and it's a ton of fun in 4 player, very fun, slightly chaotic co-op experience, but you can revive players by finding them locked in chests, or even press Select to drop your fairy to give someone who needs it a shield if you're more confident in your dodges. It's really neat! This is a super hard mode that you have to unlock by beating the main game while finding 4 hidden items. :) The layouts are quite a bit nastier!

Hey you’re back! What did you think of bayonetta 3?! I haven’t played it yet. Idk why, but I feel like I’m not missing out. I have been realllllly enjoying Blinx the cat and Steel Battalion Heavy Armor. I heard so many negative things about both these games but I absolutely love them. SB:HA is honestly a masterpiece in immersive game design. It doesn’t feel like your typical mech game, but once you immerse yourself and accept the fact that these mechs are slow, you fire slowly, and that’s the world they built, it becomes so good. The slower you move and shot, the smarter you gotta be with your shots, and the more intense the get always are. Honestly, one of the top 10 best games I’ve played

Haven't sunk my teeth into Bayo 3 yet, but I hear it's interesting enough to be worth the price of admission. Steel Battalion's cool! I didn't ever get into any of the Mechwarrior games yet where you're a slow, lumbering death machine, but I do really enjoy the feel of the Vegaltas in EDF so I suppose it's not far off from that, haha. My preference is more Armored Core style mech handling though. The arcade game Wolf Fang: Kuuga 2001 scratches that itch well too.

It's really fun, especially in multiplayer! The normal game's actually quite easy, Hell Mode ups the scrolling speed and makes enemies very nasty. Normally the game is a 2 loop run, and you get a password if you beat the second loop while having found all the secret items. The password gets you Hell Mode, a super tricky single loop run that makes enemies and level layouts VERY nasty, and gets you a silly ending message!
