One of the best tutorials I have done! You are spot on and explain and show close ups. I soooooo appreciate that! Thank you so much!

You amaze me! You're so talented. Your camera setup is 💯% perfect. The close ups are such a help and they are very much close and clear. Thanks for this whole experience. Love the piece.

Beautiful as always! It looks like the square wire is much stiffer than round dead soft..I'm having a difficult time keeping my wires straight..I think a lot more practice is what I need!

So so beautiful 🙏❤ cut this be done with round wire you think? In Denmark it's not so easy to get square and half round
@cleftoftherockcreations42892 жыл бұрын
Yes, it can be done. It'll just be a little more fiddly. The square wire sits flat, so that's the reason I prefer it. The round wire tends to slip n slide off the stone a bit more as you work with it, but you can most definitely do it! You're just creating a cage to house the stone no matter if your wire is round or square. :)

Wonderful tutorial. Question: I am going to do this in gold filled. I have somega 22 half round but it is half hard (I also have hard) but don't have dead soft. Will that work?
@cleftoftherockcreations42895 ай бұрын
Half hard can be challenging for some people but others find it easy to work with. It really depends on how strong your hands are.

My opal would not stay put. So disappointing
@davidlaue8225 Жыл бұрын
It took me 3 attempts to make this piece, the first two were disasters. I finally got it the third time, don't give up. Little tip, for the opal get yourself an opal bead and wire it in through the bail using the same gauge wire your making the bail out of. It'll never move :)

how do you stop the marking i seem to mark stuff with plier marks?
@cleftoftherockcreations42892 жыл бұрын
You learn over time how to use the right amount of pressure while still being gentle enough to not mar the wire. I still leave marks ocassionally, in which case I buff them out with my dremel during the polishing stage.

@@cleftoftherockcreations4289 thankyou so much i think it proves im a beginner lol
@AngieAtchley Жыл бұрын
@@quietspacearts I'm a beginner too, and have the same problem. I've seen other videos where the wrappers dip their tool ends in something, but I'm not sure what! That's supposed to stop the marking as well. I can't remember what it's called or even if other wrappers recommend it. It's something to look in to anyway. Good luck!
@prodigirl19 ай бұрын
You can also use less of your tools for shaping and use your fingers, they will strengthen in time. I think the bent nose pliers are used a bit too much here.
