holy hell!!! I legit have a beefy pc and this game was the only game ever that I have had problems with. After disabling the track ir I can run the game at 4k with all settings at the highest. The lagging made me put this game down for awhile but now I am going to pick it back of cause of you, thank you a thousand times.

It runs much smoother but there’s still a few that are much less noticeable. They’re more noticeable in 4k but my monitor is only 1080p so that’s unnecessary. I’ve gotten Minecraft with shaders in 4k running smoother than this game so that says something about this game’s optimization.

I thought I broke the game, I had no clue about the shader building stutter you described here. My game was working perfectly, so I decided to up the graphics slightly, and after doing it I was getting that shader stutter. I reverted the setting and I was still getting it. I thought I broke it, but you mentioned it does that every time there's a change in graphics settings. After letting it sit and running around the map for awhile, I was able to max everything out and still get excellent frame rate once the stuttering stopped. Thanks, although I didn't need the tip described in this video, you helped me figure out my problem in your responses to some comments down here. Much appreciated

This worked well enough, I have a 3060 ti and an 10th gen i7, I was scared when it stuttered at 1080p, this fixed it well enough to run it at 1440p medium settings with only some stuttering at very high speeds

Thank you! From my preliminary testing I'd say it's all fixed now and I have been fighting this issue for a long time. I thought it was my 4060 ti as Nvidia really crippled it by halving the bus, they did make other improvements but that reduction alone pretty much neutered this card. My current PC I am limited to certain GPUs due to the length of the card that will fit inside the case. I have parts on order for a new system build where I'll be able to use a lot better card.

@@rqsgaming The option inside the game was turned off, I had to edit the file to force the change. It seems like others are having the same issue where that option does not really disable it. I've seen that it's been talked about on their forums but Giants hasn't acknowledged it at all... it seems they are typically slow at providing fixes.

As a fellow gamer and an FS player since fs13, ive noticed this as well as stutters in general, since hour one of launch. Since then ive gone through 3 upgrades to the monster ive got now(i play star citizen amd strem it on the same pc,as well so that gives you an idea) and ive been searching for a really long time for a solution. Now i might add that recently they added turning VSync off and changing the framelimit. I found your trick worked amazingly, especially when paired with turning Vsync off(specifically if they have a Gsync/freesync monitor) and setting the framelimit to a high rate to let their gpus run free(this game seems to like to hardlock gpus to a specific framerate and i was noticing my gpu was ramping up and down which caused frame time delays). This and since im on a Asus ROG 3060 i did DLSS and it looks to be pretty much flawless now. i greatly appreciate you sharing this discovery, and if you want to add my fre tricks ive learned you are welcome to it as well. Happy farming. Also imma sub cause you found out the other have of my problem lol ive never used tobil. So i didnt even think to check the XML for it nor did i think it wasnt actually off lol.

@@rqsgaming wow sorry for the horrible typos. It was really late at night when i wrote this. Haha. Anyways since then i havent had any major issues. I did notice flickering with the trees when seasons was on and it was autumn. This caused frame drops too. Setting the visual month to March fix it. Other than that you are welcome to share and or post anything ive come across if you wish

@@kamakazedragongaming3129 no worries about the typos, I totally understood what you were saying 👍 I get the tree flickering as well sometimes, only when I have the frame rate unlocked. I get rid of them by hitting F2 and locking the frame rate. It’s an issue I have seen almost since the initial release i think. I think Giants still has some work to do with fixing some graphics issues. Thanks for the tips you gave, really appreciate it. 😁

if anyone is still getting the micro stutter, try making sure vsync is turned off in game and in control panel or amd equivalent as @Kamakaze Dragon Gaming suggests, vsync to off fixed my issues

Thank you so much. I tried EVERYTHING. I never heard of shader cache before. I simply drove around the map (inside the vehicle) once and all my cache built up...or however it works. I was playing on a new game. Now i have ultra graphics on my laptop. That is all the problem was. This game must rely heavily on cache. Thank you sincerely !

thanks for showing us that shader cache and how it works im sure that part of the video alone will help many players, i had 5 shader files in that folder i assumed they were conflicting so i deleted all 5 files, game loads as normal nothing is lost its stuttering a little bit not as much as before, its improved.

You’re welcome! As far as the multiple cache files go, the game will create a new one each time an update comes out, or if you install a graphics card driver update. It will also create a new cache file if you make certain graphic setting changes inside the game. Thanks for watching 👍

I have a pretty decent pc Ryzen 5 and a 3060 ti but this game has never even been playable even on medium to low graphics but this has made it completely stable fps no stutters at high graphics so thank you!

This also worked for me, i always thought it was a hardware problem. But it's a far more smooth gameplay since i changed this. I have far less drops in GPU usage sinds the change.

Thanks a bunch for posting this video. A year later and it's still an issue!? Just got the game.. Good thing I didn't buy the game directly from Steam cuz I would have refunded it right away! Even on low settings I kept getting stutters, a lot.. With fps at over 140.. What?? Might be too early to call it, but I seemed to solve it for me. Thanks!

It also depends on where you get the game from too. I had with gamepass and it was terrible. The gamepass version would be lagging all the time. But the steam version is some much better it does have micro stutter. But. I am using just 1 Sata SSD for everything too.

That is correct, a new shader cache file will be created. Some settings can be changed individually and won’t require a new shader cache file.

This didnt seem to work in my case for some reason. I let the game run without doing anything for around 40 minutes, then went to do some contracts for around an hour. That whole time it stuttered and the audio was weirdly messed up. I have no issues like this in much heavier games since my pc is pretty good, not sure what to do anymore.

welp, i was too quick to judge! took a little longer and i know why, but it's running smoother now, still stutters sometimes but it's less than before. seems it's only getting better from here because the fifth shader cache is almost built! glad to be able to enjoy this game properly.

No, the only time the shader cache is re-done is typically with a game update, or a graphics driver update. Also, sometimes if you change graphics settings in the game, a new shader cache file will be created. Thanks for watching!

What app are you using to edit the XML file with? Try downloading and installing Notepad ++. Let me know if that helps.

I use a mod called Easy development controls. You can find it on the in-game modhub. It is only for PC and Mac. You can stop time, along with a ton of other things. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Have you tried making adjustments to your graphics settings? Also, check out my second video about fixing stutter. Basically deleting shader cache. Also, make sure no other programs running in the background.

The game should use the RAM that it needs and that will fluctuate during game play as well. It will also depend on how many mods you have enabled for the map you're playing. Hey, when i join the game i get 10- 20 fps with medium settings with rx560 2gb vram, but sometimes when im lucky i join the game with 50-60 fps with same settings, i dont know why, i deleted shader it didnt help out, i know that rx560 is not perfect graphics card for the game, but its funny how Red dead redemption 2 runs way better than farming 22, also one settings called Shadow distance quality, when you switch it to low, it revertes when u quit game or when u return to game menu im so pissed off and not bothered to buy new graphics card when the game is shitty optimized

Are you talking about Multiplayer? If so then what you're seeing is likely due to server connection speeds, etc. If you're referring to local game play then that is really odd.

@@rqsgaming i dont want to talk about multiplayer its ass disaster i get 5-10 fps, its about singleplayer and the problem i think i found out is that vehicle models lags hell ton out, but getting a cache file that rendered vehicles reduces lag alot.

You have to. The game won’t run without it. My guess is you don’t have file extensions visible. Do a Google search on how to turn on file extensions in windows. Also make sure you are looking in the right folder. 👍

Hi Brother I got aurora R12 with 3070 RTX 16 gb ram but this game stutter at starting each and every time and then I changed my PC to R13 with rtx3080 10 gb graphics memory and 16 gb ram and this game still stutters in starting the map every time its so annoying i spent 3500 dollars just for this game. It sounds like you have a pretty good PC setup. Does the stuttering decrease the more you play on the map? Or does it seem to always remain the same? Have you disabled your antivirus and quit others applications while playing the game? Applications, running in the background can cause issues. Let me know if you need further help. 👍

Keep in mind the more that you play on a map the smoother it will get. As you play, there is a file called shader cache that gets built up to help smooth out graphics.
