Micro USB boost converter - MT3608

A 5V to 28V adjustable DC-DC step-up converter. It features a micro USB port which makes it easy to pair with a USB powerbank and create a portable adjustable power supply.
At the heart of this board is a MT3608 constant frequency step-up converter.

Quite funny how these tend to release magic smoke if you input more than 6v but I only use them to convert voltages from usb adaptors at fairly low currents.

Hi... I just bought this module for charging my bike battery. While charging I noticed that the electric tester is illuminating both negative and positive terminals which is unusual. Any idea in this case???? A quick response will be highly appreciated...

could it power my pc screen off of a usb port from my pc, it needs a 19v 1.3A input

Not from an usb port. 19x1.3=24.7 watts. 24.7/5=4.94 amps. So if the module was 100% efficient it would draw 5 amps from your usb port. That is not possible. An usb port can only deliver 0.5 amps. A power bank maybe upto 2 amps but not 5 amps.

Most power banks only do 2A at 5v(10watts) this board can do around 20 watts

Can anyone tell me what will be the value of R1 AND R2 if we want to get fixed 6.7V output not using rheostat to adjust.Input is 3.7-4.2v

The equation for output voltage is in the datasheet, or you can just set the trimpot and then measure what it is set to.

What happens if I connect my micro USB charger directly instead of using a power bank?I just don't know, can somebody help.Thanks :) Would there be a heating up of my charger when adjusting the volts ?

i think that would work. but MT3608 is a switching device, and your charger is a switching supply also. might interfere with the MT3608 board. put a cap on the input of the board and see if it works.

can this run in inverter set it to 12v and run 220v on it

I could try it and let you know. I doubt it would be much use because it can't handle much current. Most inverters consume 5-10W even when idle.

It could probably charge a laptop very slowly while it's not being used. But i doubt the standard powerbank could provide enough power to charge the average laptop while it's being used.

No, not even close. They'll shut down if you try to exceed 2A and that's input. 5V 2A input gives you less than 1A output at whatever voltage your (a typical) laptop needs. Choose a different boost converter. Also most power banks are typically limited to 3A or less so this is a secondary bottleneck.

According to the spec sheet, up to 2A output current. But at the top end that would be 30V 2A, 60W. I have doubts it could handle that.

If you're using a 5V 1A supply then obviously that wouldn't be possible. The board has input pins which you can use, aside from the micro USB port. You can actually feed in 2-24V.

eBay is the cheapest and easiest place. Most sellers offer free worldwide delivery too. You just have to be patient waiting for the delivery. Actually it arrives in the PH pretty quickly but it can take a long time for your local post office to process it.
