For anyone wondering - he said on Twitter that this was filmed in March, before he found out, so him looking at a lymph node is really just a wild coincidence!

Could you make a video on the process of designing this microscope, and the whole process of getting these into production? I'd be very interested to see the decisions made between accessible cost vs quality components when making a product designed to be the first real leap into hobbyist microscopy

@@Crispy_Bee Hank and this channel are cool but taking a 100% markup for a logo and a phone mount really ain't a great look. Not a fan of when youtubers/influencers rebrand a generic product while talking about "working hard to produce it," especially if there aren't any notable customizations.

@@IgneousExtrusive Google the model number on the box (BM-136C). It's available for 140 US dollars at retail online. Disappointing that this is just a re-branded item sold for a 100% markup, from a KZbinr I trust.

Hi Hank, I have an astronomy telscope, with a smart phone adapter, that does basicly the same thing as your microscope phone adapter. I find it works much better to take the eyepiece off of the telescope, clamp the adapter and the phone on the eyepiece, and then put a bright surface behind it, like a white piece of paper, while I align the phone, with the camera turned on. That way, I can more easily center the phone on the eyepiece. I can see the edges of the light coming thru the eyepiece, and center it, and it does not need to be in focus at this time. After the phone camera is centered, I can put the whole unit (phone, adapter and eyepiece) back on the telescope. I am wondering if that process would help with the microscope as well.

QUESTION - I was actually drafting an email to Complexly & James right when they announced this video was coming out, so I put it on hold and have been waiting!! I need something that I can use with my left hand. Or mostly use my left hand. Looks like the focus is Bilateral. Yay! But what about the slide tray? Can it be moved with the left hand? Or can a left handed slide tray be purchased & exchanged? I haven't used a microscope in almost 30 years... Can most of the things be done left handed? Unfortunately, I have nerve damage in my right hand from multiple sclerosis. I am investigating new hobbies since I can no longer do most things. Microscopy is at the top of my list. Along with doing scent work with my dog... If anyone knows and could answer I would really appreciate it. Otherwise, I will send my email along anyway...

pesonaly i believe everyone would find more enjoyment from a bit better microscope. buy a cheaper and better one and maybe you'll see even more and enjoy yourself even more. this is just your run of the mill china mass produced entry level that you get tierd of quickly because i's so mediocre and lame. he only showed the standard hand picked slides that were included. all normal things look just slightly magnified! trust me. waste of money! reseach TYPE of microscope and pic better type depending on what you wanna look at. leaves? this is good. bacteria? forget it.

L♡ve it would go with a dedicated camera 📷 with SD cards space and WiFi capabilities lens to detach over using your phone 📱 📲 See improvements can be done modifications. Will help capture better results. Open source materials want to be sure all items are fair trade ethically sourced items verified fully from raw materials to end product fully transparent also showing the workers how they are treated? Then see the end product. Fully no slave labor. The microscope is great, sure teaching tool it's not showing how everything was made fully that's the video I'm interested in not anything on greenscreens. Really go directly to the factories you outsource to and literally film 🎥 everything fully. Then relaunch? Be great is we had a logo with certain standards to certify truly verified fair trade ethically sourced item not just outsourcing to a factory supplier in China blindly at lowest price point then mark up the finished product. Same bs. Has potential weird how our society doesn't value those details will stare at slides or videos. We have a problem for us all over SO YOU could cover all of it all together it's just unnecessary domestic violence wage slavery and money laundering human trafficking hellscape happening trying to address that aspect on my end. Love microscope 🔬 exploration sure just prefer a better harmony direction with on nations to nature on a planet we share briefly.
