Opiates are incredibly beneficial drugs. They make life possible for many of the most ill people in the world, suffering from the most rare and painful diseases. And sadly, these people are constantly forced to traverse increasingly more impossible hoops to get their prescriptions, despite there being a very obvious and easily discernible difference, between patients who need them longterm and in high quantities, and those who don't. Yet, the public also continue to increasingly be brainwashed by the propaganda--and believe in this one size fits all approach to opiates. We give into the lie that they are dangerous and serve no positive purpose--because there happens to be a large part of the populace who are so entitled, they believe they have the right to experiment/try these drugs out recreationally, when they receive a medical prescription, instead of taking the warnings of their doctors seriously. Studies have proven that when one takes opiates as prescribed by his/her physician, the chance of becoming addicted is so negligible, as to not be a concern.

Eva SS Do not listen to that silly uneducated reply about doing mdma instead of LSD, mdma releases serotonin, in basics this is the chemicals in your brain that are released naturally to make you happy, mdma releases all these chemicals and floods your brain with it, not too healthy to do if you have depression, although may seem otherwise in the moment of an mdma high. I think that would be dangerous. I haven't taken LSD because of the fact that it can give you depression. I have several friends who have done LSD and more than half of them have severe depression all because of LSD. My dad used to injected straight up in his arms but he didn't get depression. Not everyone gets depression out of it. That's quite the story to tell because my dad used to take the needle and syringe and inject liquid acid right into his veins. He said it probably should have killed him but he said why wait 45 minutes when you can have it right away. And he has a good point.

david bryan look at all the positive experience when taking these substances in microdoses, how can you say that it still needs to be illegal but all the prescription meds that do way more harm should be legal? it is wrong to lock people up for possessing a substance that helps improve their lives. and besides even if its still illegal people will use it anyway and without the right education they could potentially put themselves and others in way more danger than if it were legal and they were educated about it

The difference between medicine and poison is the dose. Drink a glass of water and your body will thank you. Drink five gallons at one time and it's not going to be pretty. I noticed an interesting thing about some substances awhile ago. That is that smaller doses of some things seem to work better than higher doses for some ailments. For example, I've had a couple teeth extracted. The first visit I took the pain medication exactly as described and it didn't work all that well. I felt off for an hour, then felt decent for an hour, then four hours of pain before the next dose. The second visit, I decided to split the pills into four pieces and take one every hour and a half. Well, the pain didn't exactly "go away" but it was a LOT more tolerable. Taking smaller doses, but more frequently (equaling out as the same amount) worked far better for the purpose of managing the pain. Another example, cannabis. I know from experience that Cannabis helps my depression, anxiety, and insomnia. If I consume a lot, I get high. It helps my issues, but then I have new issues of being unmotivated and hungry. If I consume a much smaller amount, I remain functional AND my issues are controlled. I've never tried LSD or shrooms or any other drug really, so I can't comment. I can say however, if you consume Cannabis for medical reasons, consider experimenting with microdosing/taking smaller doses but more frequently.

I truly think we should legalize everything, and treat things like severe addiction as a mental health issue, and not a crime. Of course greed and corruption keeps a war on drugs profitable, but we have to come together as a species in order to stop this. Alcohol and tobacco kill more people annually than all the other drugs combined (Though Fentanyl is working hard to change that.) and we should be aware of this fact.
@johnswanson8027 жыл бұрын
Well fentanyl and carfentanyl is usually consumed only because heroin is cut with it so if its all legalized and the government regulates the distribution then this all stops PLUS the government gets to tax it and we all know how much the government loves money. Theres no reason not to honestly
@SatoshiTajiri7 жыл бұрын
That is an Utopia. Look at marijuana, most places who made it legal now face an even worse problem with widespread illegal sale of cheaper versions by drug dealers. The famous Amsterdam coffees are now full of them, which is also keeping non-marijuana addict tourists away, driving their sales down.

I've had cluster headaches for about 11 years now. The only thing that seems to kind of work is a prescription I get from my doctor. The problem with it though is I have to take it before the cluster headaches start, which is pretty hard to do since the onset of the headaches is rapid, but I can't take it everyday. I also noticed that the years I do take the meds I get more headaches but the overall pain is lower. I've heard that small doses of magic mushrooms everyday completely removes the headaches as in you won't get them at all but since it's illegal I can't try it without risking jail or meeting shady people. Just legalize it already. We're adults. I can go to the liquor store right now and buy enough alcohol to kill a dozen people but I can't buy or grow some mushrooms that exist in nature? How does that make any sense?
@joshuascott59156 жыл бұрын
systematic101 grow your own. Depending on what state you live in it is legal to posses magic mushroom spoors just not the mushroom itself. They are very easy to grow and as long as you are not selling them there are no red flags that will be raised by the stuff needed to grow them. Every bit of information u could want is at your finger tips all you have to do is look. Hope this helps. In my opinion it doesn't matter what the government has to say about the legality of a plant or fungus. If it's used as a medicine and I know it will help me I'm going to do it regardless of what the law says.

as a user of psychedelics since the 60's, i can say that I have never suffered ill effects, and know many friends who regularly microdose and hold down good jobs. This is a far safer way to treat depression and anti social tendencies than the big pharma answer to phsychiatric disease. They were partially responsible for the illegalising of many natural psychedelic substances over 50 years ago, and are definitely making money from the alternatives. If nobody is allowed to experiment with nthis, how can we ever know the gbenefits of such treatment? the normal ose to get as high is at least 100milligrams of LSD, whereas microdosing is at a level of 10 milligrams. The drug works on a subatomic level to balance the brain and produce feelings of love tather than the negative feelings one gets from anti depressants.

Before I started microdosing LSD life was very hard and every day was simply a fight for survival, I have PTSD with a strong GAD (generalised anxiety) component. I'd been to doctors, therapists, counsellors, psychiatrists and while the therapy and medication worked, they never worked enough, PTSD would still control my life. However, I am no longer burdened by anxiety and depression, instead of being reactive I am proactive and seizing the day everyday. Instead of dedicating my day to running from myself or trying to get high I am a highly functioning member of society again. LSD has not cured me, I need to take it weekly otherwise I seem to start to regress and my anxiety is not completely gone, it's just easier to understand and control now. I am more able to see everything from a different perspective and to alter my thought patterns so they don't lead to repetitive negative behaviours. This is a powerful tool and must be treated with caution and respect if you wish to wield it's therapeutic value. It's honestly a shame doctors cannot prescribe this to people in need, PTSD sufferers, substance abuse sufferers, depressives, grieving people, anxious people. There are no negative side effects that come to mind, especially when compared to an SSRI. It's difficult to tell people that the reason I'm better now is because I'm taking LSD because so many people still think LSD is always bad no matter what because it's illegal or that it only has recreational value. Ever since microdosing I've not suffered as much from substance abuse problems, my physical health has improved, my mental health has improved. I strongly suggest you look into it if you or someone you know is suffering.

Growing up in the society's we are in have destroyed us. Its work work work. And for what? Just to be able to "live"? We forget how to enjoy the little things we did as kids. I always think back to coloring in my books. The contrast of colors always had me in its grip. Like I couldn't stop looking at them. Never wanted to stop watching the clouds move. Always loved the look of flowers and plants. That's the same feeling we get from LSD. Using it to reconnect with your youth definitely helps with depression and anxiety. I personally used it to stop using alcohol. If anything, it opened my eyes to the fact that I had things that were much too precious to lose.

I gotta say - I love these people. The microdosers, I mean. They are open minded and courageous enough to not only try this, but to share their experience with us, showing their faces and homes on TV. I've got such respect for them. I have been playing around with the idea of microdosing THC/CBD by smoking miniscule amounts of cannabis, richer in either THC or CBD. I did it accidentally one time, had interesting results. This piece and these people have inspired me to give it a shot for real. Nice. Thanks! :)

I’ve microdosed before and i ended up cleaning the bathroom top to bottom (because it was gross) , had a better relationship with food and essentially stopped constantly making negative jokes about myself because I knew how much it was contributing to my depression. I microdosed again recently and started crafting whips/floggers 😂 I love it!

Before I say this: I have a neurobiology/psych degree, and I did drugs. I don't much anymore, and I think the things said about drugs are generally half truths. That said, LSD was researched at Harvard for therapeutic benefit primarily in addicts and criminals. The pervading consensus, as I understand it (and it matches my anecdotal experience), is LSD has erratic effects. They could not figure out how to produce reliable outcomes in therapeutic use. For some people, it did seem to help. Yet in as many others, it exacerbated symptoms -- sometimes turning to lasting psychotic effects. In others, rather than mediate their symptoms, it worsened them. It's erratic, and that's a problem for medical use. Great for psychonauts looking for adventure, bad when it's someone truly suffering and looking for relief. If I told you an antibiotic sometimes completely ended an infection, but other times doubled it, you would not think it wise to bring that to a patient. That's not to say it's not worth study. However, of all the prohibited drugs, LSD is one of the few that did get a decent amount of research. Do what you will, but don't think one person's experience is going to reflect yours. And for the love of fuck, if you have a family history of schizophrenia, do not take psychedelics.

J. Hierhof true, but people who take prescription drugs support pharmaceutical companies who aren't much better.
@antman54746 жыл бұрын
J. Hierhof ...you're right and in an ideal world drugs wouldn't be available, they cause too many social problems. But I can't help thinking that if there was some good to be had out of doing research into micro dosing then it might be worth pursuing. Many of todays legal prescriptions come with a whole host of possible side effects often tackled with yet more prescription drugs and the only ones that seem to benefit from this chemical cycle are the drug companies. They make a lot of money from it. But we're all led to believe that their way is the right way and the ones selling illegal drugs is the wrong way. It seems odd that the pharmaceutical companies don't generally have any illegal substances in their catalogues and yet the non scientific experiment mentioned in this video appeared to be successful. Why are the drug companies ignoring this? And why are governments sticking to their hard line about steering clear from illegal drugs regardless of how much is consumed when people are now discovering that micro dosing can help. It's just a shame people have to rely on the criminal dealers for their prescriptions.

There is actually a lot of research (compared to the amount a decade ago) being done on psychedelic compounds and their medicinal benefits. Look up mdma trials for PTSD, philocibin/lsd and dmt for depression is also being studied. In fact i think if you look around enough you could even be involved in some of these trials. A friend of mine was involved in a study where they used ketamine to reduce alcohol in take and he just felt like he no longer wanted to drink at all for the preceding weeks (and im pretty sure he only drinks a small amount long term). Its all some very interesting stuff

My first acid trip my parents got pissed I was doing acid and really fucked with me hard about like they had been about anything I did substance related or not. I was in a bad place in my head. I took a walk to the local bridge and planned to kick the bucket. When I got to the foot of the bridge the acid kicked in. I sat down, thought about the situation, and realized it wasn't the end of the world. My head felt clear and I felt reborn. I walked around the boardwalk and observed everything that I've over looked before. All I think about is how much we take for granted. I remember thinking about how some people have to have an oxygen tank to breathe but I'm not one of those people and at the end of the day I was thanking God for all these small things my body can do that have a major impact on people who can't.

I find it curious how very few deaths have been recorded due to this drug or any other psychedelics. Especially when comparing to the number of deaths that occur every year from alcohol, cigarettes, and even suicide. Often times those three forementioned topics end up taking innocent lives as well. There is immense potential for the social and psychological benefits of using psychedelic drugs. They deserve respect like any other mood altering drug. I can imagine that alcohol and tabacco companies are fearful of this drug because it has the ability to restore happiness and fulfillment in ones life that does not require the the aid from nicotine or alcohol.

1) Alcohol is legal. 2) Alcohol is way more comfortable for most people. 3) Alcohol is a million times less potent: you have to consume it on the order of hundreds of grams, rather than on the order of hundreds of micrograms. >I can imagine that alcohol and tabacco companies are fearful of this drug because... Stop it. Illegal drugs are illegal, because a majority of the people think they should be. Because of hysteria in the media and politicians addicted to making more and more laws. Stop blaming everything on a small group of industrialists. It's your neighbours and coworkers that are the problem.

“Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behaviour and information processing. They open you up to the possibility that everything you know is wrong.” ― Terence McKenna
