To turn the speaker off turn the edit select 2 knob to global and then turn the release pot and it will show on/off on the lcd.

Nice intro to the MicroKorg. You can turn the speckers off in the global settings, which will stay off untill you turn it back on.

Hello! The Microkorg S has picked up my interest recently, and I'm curious about this things si vous plais to answer. 1. does it have a Piano patch? e.g. the MicroKORG XL which is the one I have has the SG Piano sound, is not a concert grand, but it defends as a Piano sound patch 2. what other keyboard type sounds it has? like, rhodes? tines? etc. 3. about the poliphony, the specifications says is only 4 voices for synth sounds, so... I've experienced the limitations of using pedal though midi and have a feel of the low poliphony it has on that side, is it 4 ... few? like, playing as piano, would be 6 voices at least Thank you

Of course, I can be wrong, but for some reason there is such a feeling and such an opinion that the first original microkorg sounds somehow richer and more pleasant. What do you think about this, that one sounds better, and the second is better thought out

Hey! Is the keyboard itself any different? I never liked the stiffness of the keys in OG MicroKorg. Heard that MicroKorg XL had better keys. Maybe this one also has those improved keys

Keys on OG are stupid stiff and only useful for programming patches. That oysterlovers guy must have a super heavy touch.

I can't possibly imagine why. This isn't the XL or something, it's just a plain MicroKorg with built-in speakers (on a battery synth) + double patch memory = better. The looks maybe?

The XL does have a different sound engine and thus sounds different. THE OG and S share the same engine (taken from the MS2000). A huge difference as well is that the XL is harder to program, because you have only one knob to adjust the values + 2 other knobs to navigate the menues. Some key parameters can be changed a bit easier, but if you want to start from scratch, you have to dive deep into the menues of the XL. If you only want to use presets or use the editing software, the XL can be quite nice. It sounds a bit more hi-fi in a way, but misses some of the edge and character of the OG. Some sounds do sound quite different, others are almost the same (you can upload the factory patches from the OG into the XL. I did it to compare their sounds.)
