Thank u so much Larry. I just follow your instruction and YES! I did it!!! I can replace my Stage2's laser unit by myself. From now on, I don't have to take it to audio repair technician and pay $60 to fix it.

I did check the door mechanism belt and it is still good. I didn’t bother to show this as there are videos on KZbin already covering its replacement. My belief is that the first transport I received is used as the sled motor wasn’t working properly. The laser however was better and currently it plays just about all CD’s. There are just a couple of suspect CD’s now that still skip. I ordered another replacement drive from a supplier out of Germany that swears his units are new. Stay tuned for part 2.

Thanks for your video Larry, very illustrative. I also own a Micromega Stage 2. Unlike your neighbor's player, mine it hasn't skip problems but serious difficulties to insert and take out the try, in fact I'm doing by hand and the operation is very noisy and jagged. Thus, I'm going to dismantle the unit and take a look to the gears. In the probable case that some gear pinion is broken, does anyone know if there's replacement for the try mechanism?

It likely needs a new belt for the drawer. They are simple to change. I actually was going to add that to the video but it was already getting quite long and I did find a video where someone changed the belt. All you need to do is remove the cover and take out the drawer. The belt is under the small cover at the front which is easily removed. Apparently this is also a common problem.

@@larryhuff3383 Thanks again, problem solved. Finally, it hasn't been necessary to replace the belt; simply it was "derailed" from one of the two transmision wheels. Once properly placed and try is sliding out and in, softly and quietly

That’s great news. Even better that no parts are required!
